McDavid is by far, the best player in the NHL. For some reason, this seems to be unpopular the more I read the general board. To me, it really isn't up for debate
The Panthers completely dismantled the framework of a team that would have been a contender for at the very least, the next 3 years including this year.
Leaf fans are entitled and the rest of the Canadian fanbases are insecure- mostly a generalization. This goes beyond hockey somewhat too IMO. I don't think it exists in the US because there's more scattered large media/financial metropolis' spread out over the country.
Size is very important in the NHL, especially come playoff time
The bear-hug that big guys like Weber/Chara do on the boards should be called as holding. There's already too much obstruction in the game and to me, it's a clever work-around
We need a bigger ice-surface- the game is still a bit too slow-paced at ES, obstruction clearly won't change. The game needs more infusion of skill to get fans excited....its' way to easy to trap right now at the blue-line or around the neutral zone. It doesn't have to be length, but more width.
Matthews is a top 3-5 player in the NHL and the only reason this idea is seemingly debatable on here is because of injuries, playing through injuries, and usage.
We have about 5-6 too many teams in the NHL. At the very least, a few of the teams need to be relocated- for instance one of Ana/SJ to SF
