Avs fan coming in peace. Did the Oilers have any TDL acquisitions? I can't think of any. The only acquisition of note was Kane, pre-TDL which I thought was a mistake at the time. Total error in judgment on my part. Kane has been a real stud for the Oilers.

I have been trying to do a comparison of TDL acquisitions.

Avs - Manson, Sturm, Cogliano and Lehkonen
Rangers - Copp and Motte
Lightning - Paul and Hagel
Oilers - ? as to TDL acquisitions.
Kulak.

I think the Oil can win this, but are going to have to be much tighter defensively. Can’t give them numerous odd man rushes or breakaways. That highlight package earlier in this thread showed several.

Goaltending and defensive play will be the key to winning this series.
While good defensive play would be a plus, I don't think we are built to withstand offensive pressure from a team like Colorado, I'd preach minimizing mistakes, odd-man rushes, and neutral zone turnovers, but if we have the mindset of we must play tight defensive hockey cause they are an offensive powerhouse we will lose.

A lot of this series will be dictated by who can get the most sustained offensive zone pressure, who makes less mistakes, and then pray that our goalie is better than their goalie.

All the Matthews hoopla feels so silly now. It's funny when you realize it was always purely based on stats. It's like how Vasilevskiy wasn't even nominated for the Vezina. The NHL needs to reconsider how they vote for things.
They need to take voting away from the media and let the players and coaches vote on all the awards.

This is how I see it plus special team effect. Expect lots of momentum changes and 2-0, 3-0, 4-2 leads which other team can claw back before 60 minutes. High octane games and if we can crack Colorado confidence and make them sweat on the bench this series will be turning towards our success. We need to be sharper in first 5-10 minutes and take the lead. Playing over cautious defensive hockey ala D. Tippett and we just lose our biggest strength.

20 shots and 20 hits for first period is always good target - make yourselves noticed.

Sutter mentioned how the oilers had great nuetral zone play in games 2 to 4, took away the flames ability to rush with speed. Wodcroft has 4 days to pull the same plan together.

This series is a lot closer than most experts realize. The avs are portrayed as a dynasty but they dont even get here if Binington wasn't injured on a dirty play

Yep. The only thing I'm worried about is if Nurse does his patented 'let the opposition skate in while he constantly backs up' defensive play. For a "1D", he sure lets the opposition skate in easily

Anyone know why the ticketmaster site doesn’t have any resale tickets to purchase? I personally know people who have them listed but there’s literally nothing available to purchase.

Am I looking somewhere wrong?

Then the 'let me just kneel down in front of you while you walk me and shoot' move 10ft from the net...

Though I think he is maybe still a little hurt which is why he is always going for the most dynamic or aggressive move right now

..and Derrick Brassard. He's easily forgettable though. Mostly a healthy scratch and a ghost when he's in the line-up. Some players just don't mesh well with a new team for whatever reason. I'm sure there's a better player in there somewhere.

I'll be happy if he stays on his feet and keeps dishing out the pain.

Everyone saying Kadri this and Kadri that. Im looking at the Av's lineup and thinking Who is going to keep Evander Kane in check? He was running around causing chaos in the Kings series. Calgary's goons kinda kept that side of his game in check. Who is going to handle Kane on the Av's?
