our fourth line was dreadful tonight btw ... I wouldn't take Holtz out of lineup.... he had 5 shots and a goal... the turnover meant nothing...

Goal 1 = TERRIBLE. It would be my current softy of the night, but I haven't seen anything from any of the other games.

Goal 2 = Not terrible, but absolutely stoppable. ''His glove is his strength'' my ass.

Goal 3 = Pretty much no chance.

Goal 4 = Stoppable. Barely screened and it goes through him.

Not to mention a Justin Braun point shot hit the post before he even faced a shot on goal in the opening minute or two and then more shoddy puck play even before he got scored on and WEAK REBOUNDS ALL NIGHT LONG.

He SUCKED. Plain and simple.

And Ruff sucks for starting him.

I don’t see the 3rd goal as “no chance” goal. Blackwood plays small! He had the shooter lined up, but he was all ready half down before his push off. The puck goes off of Blackwood and in.

People think Graves is a stay at home defenseman, that's always been stupid and lazy. Just assuming a guy is physical and good defensively just because he's big. He's an offensive player who takes dumb risks and has no idea how to position himself in the defensive zone. He is a horrible partner for Severson. He should be with Marino and Severson should be with Bahl.

There hasn't been such a thing as a "stay at home defenseman" in 10 years.

If a guy who takes a pass from behind the net and gets to blast a wide open one timer from the almost perfect distance away from the goal isn’t a no chance goal then there almost isn’t such a thing.

Only outside the first 7mins in the second did I feel like our defense collapsed. Otherwise they moved well, Flyers didnt have too much sustained pressure and not a bunch of big opportunities. The few they had they scored on though which is on goaltending unfortunately

PP and PK were equal for each time. Devils were down for the majority of the game. Inexcusable.

Haula and Palat each got 2 full minutes more than him!

I see 16 minutes but either way its not enough, he should be at 19.

Bratt not being on PP1 is ridiculous too. Not sure why we have Palat on the right boards.

our break down was a wrist shot from the high slot and a point shot off his chest to a wide open guy... in fact the devils really have not had many breakdowns in this one.. granted the flyers are trash and nobody offensively... so perhaps ruff was hoping he could pull out sleeper w blackwood.. but you go with van and if he plays well you start him again.

Guess you were switching between this game and the Redskins game.

There were constant odd man rushes and the forwards were consistently on the wrong side of the puck.

Break out a video of any of the losses last year and it was much the same.

Other than Boqvist and Tatar and maybe the McLeod line, the Devils consistently backed down in 1 v 1 situations and were muscled off pucks.

palat is good... he isn't a superstar thats not what he was brought in to do.... once again if your goaltending isn't right.. everything else looks way worse than it is....Blackwood let in 4 goals on 23 shots. thats a bad night... kevin Bahl needs to be in the line up as does vanicheck saturday.

No way. That was a quick pass from below the goal line to a guy wide open just outside the crease. Impossible to stop that except through sheer luck. You could have JS Giguere with his Michelin Man pads in net timing his push perfectly, and that still would be a goal most of the time.
