Not only is he a bad coach that I think is out of touch at this point, he also can't even make the right decision in what goalie to start, which gave the team less of a chance of winning.

John Hynes wouldn't have let Blackwood start this game.

For all of his faults, Blackwood wouldn't have played over Vanecek tonight. Not with how bad he was the last two years, nor with Vanecek being the significantly better goalie in the preseason.

If these games happen more than once in a very great while from here on out, I would say you'll see a much younger face, with a much hairier head in the middle of the bench very soon.
