Agree. I liked the way devils moved the puck and tried to be creative with it. Some passes caught some players (in O zone) off guard. To me it just seems like a bit more ambitious play compared to last season. I absolutely detested the dump and chase hockey, battles in the cornest crap we've seen for god how many seasons since 2010.

they had a few good looks on pp but the one timer passes were not on the mark... ok first period no damage.. but they need to show some maturity here and come out strong in second.. flyers were short 3 times in that period and the devils got little momentum from it so we will see

The reactions in here by many are quite predictable. The team has been figured out after one 20 minute period.

Disjointed but I’m not surprised. These lines were jumbled together after two to three days of practice with the same trios. Also, we had to play down a defender already with Smith missing a couple of shifts.

Everyone breathe. Let’s see how they come out after intermission.

Hopefully Palat was just shaken up and nothing more.

yeah the way they settle in will tell me way more than how they played the first period of the season

Well I watched the preseason too and hoped the lack of structure was due to the preseason.

The defensive concept looks very similar to last year and I didn’t like it then.

We lost the NHL package in Canada and have Sportsnet now... this is the first game and it's crap... looks like a satellite feed in a major storm and locking up... fack! Anyone else have a bad feed from Philly?

Didn't like the fact that the Flyers almost always came away with the puck after board and stick battles. I really do think Tortorella would have been a good choice for us.

when your team has sucked for years.. you have extreme fragility.... we all have it... its very likely if they lose you will be ready to call it a season...

Yeah. Same here. Sportsnet as well. Dropping out constantly. I haven’t had any issues like this prior to this game. And of course the other games are playing absolutely fine. Frustrating.
