They need to play whoever is better and the last two years, as well as the preseason, it hasn't been Blackwood.

If he's outplaying Vanecek, then you play him, but that's something he hasn't done since Vanecek entered the league.

The last staff/regime (Hynes/Shero) for all their faults were much more inclined to letting Kinkaid and then Blackwood take over from Schneider when he was falling apart. And he was signed for like 4-5 more years at that point. If DeBoer (and probably Ruff as well) were the head coach for the 17-18 team, he would have let Schneider take us off a cliff and we would have just missed the playoffs to the Panthers.

I'm not a Hynes fan, but he was giving Schneider a shorter leash very early on in his decline. Kinkaid was even starting games in 16-17 that he probably wouldn't have otherwise started if Schneider hadn't started showing some frightening signs.

Now they have the opportunity not to play him. They just went and traded for a goalie (just like they did in 2013) and even extended him beyond this year for something close to $3.5?

I have no issues with them using him over the last two years, other than when they weren't shutting him down by December and really let him plummet for a whole month after that. One of those times was when Ruff threw him out there sick against Philly because ''He really wanted to play'' last year, which is the 1 regulation loss he has to them.

I expect NJ to move on from Blackwood when his RFA term ends even if you want them to offer him a 7 or 8 year deal. It's not gonna happen so prepare yourself now.

Smart way to promote the game by streaming the opener. Well, this is the future of sports. Add paying to watch it to your already $200 + cable bill.

My cable bill isn't even remotely $200 and when you have to pay for decent internet plus all these subscription services it all equals out to the overpriced shit that it is.

The MLS is going to apple+ and there's no blackouts and it will have all the games. I'll be getting that for free cause the league is giving it to every season ticket holder. If it succeeds and the NHL eventually does the same thing I'll drop cable then.

What I do is I just subscribe by the month and I can subscribe and re-subscribe whenever I want.

Now, I probably will wind up paying something like $30 bucks (or maybe more, haven't really specifically checked it out that in depth yet) or something just to watch 5 games this year, but after the game against the Islanders later this month I'm unsubscribing until we come on again, which I think isn't until after the new calendar year.

That way, I'm only charged for this month.

I just refuse out of principal, if I wasn't paying for cable sure that's one thing but yeah I ain't paying $30 for 5 games, I looked at the calender and you have to pay for 3 months to get those 5 games.

This is just an absolutely embarrassing lineup. Half of their forwards are either guys I've never heard of or guys that absolutely suck. And then about a quarter of them are guys playing way above where they should.

They actually re-signed Justin Braun after trading him to the Rangers? Really? Justin Braun is still in the NHL this year? Did they offer Yandle a contract too?

I mean, if Blackwood can't beat this team/allows a lot of goals to THIS, he should probably be BENCHED for a MONTH.
