Dare we say we move Kovy to maybe 2nd on the shoot out?

No.

I'm pretty confident that we elect to shoot first and Kovy is our first shooter to take the entire mental game away from him. Kovy starts the shootout, 1 on 1 on a clean sheet.

Down 1-0, he's pressured to tie it. 0-0 with the opposing team down a shooter, he's relaxed. Give him a clean sheet and he doesn't have to think - just play.

I stood up and screamed when he was able to clear on that PK after getting rocked by the puck. He threw some big hits tonight, blocked a lot of shots, and even was able to hold the puck in at the point on numerous occasions. Great game by him. That's the player we handed out a long contract to.

As did I and got worried when he went straight to the locker room, but he was right back out there blocking more shots and throwing down big hits. More of this Volch please.

More of tonight's Sal too, he was showing hints of Salvad-Orr from the playoffs last year tonight. Something we haven't even been close to seeing from him at all this year. Watching him keep the zone and even do some really nifty little passes to make some chances happen I had to double take that it was Sal.

Volchenkov played his best game as a Devil tonight.

The whole team looked good. Hedberg capped it. Great to see him keep fighting.

The Lokovy line is a puck possession beast, even Kovalchuk starts to cycle the puck correctly now, very promising. Poni's got to get his groove back though, he has zero confidence and makes unusual mistakes.

Kostopoulos is a nice addition, a legit NHL 4th liner but the Barch line got pinned back quite a few times tonight, especially when Wheeler and co were out there against them, they had a great amount of scoring chance. Our 4th line is clearly playing bend, don't break defence but DeBoer should think about avoiding this kind of lopsided confrontation.

Poni, Clarkson, and Zajac are all in slump mode and not playing their best games right now at all.

I noticed Kovy cycling better too. That line was really buzzing, and if Poni was on they would of definitely potted a few. Kovy's pass to Gio was excellent as well. Passing overall was very crisp tonight, especially on the one PP. I thought the 4th line was pretty good for what they are asked to do. Worked hard and had some decent pressure of their own too.

Was a good game overall, we just need to stitch this together into a winning streak of some sorts.

Well this was unexpected.....considering how low my expectations were.

Just finished watching the game I recorded(so nice to fast-forward through the dumbass commercials)....Glad to see a Full 65-minute(includes OT) effort.

Now let's try this again :

Take that victory and use it as Momentum into the next game and WIN IT.

Devils better not lay an egg the next game.

Zubrus Loktionov Kovalchuk. I think it would be great, come back soon Dainius!

EDIT: Our roster looks pretty solid when healthy.

Zubrus Loktionov Kovalchuk
Elias Henrique Bernier
Ponikarovsky Zajac Clarkson
Carter Gionta Matteau

It would be amazing if Lou can get another goal scorer.

What a game last night Moose really stepped up. Kovy was in another gear still played too much for my liking. Barch sucked, Clarkson was not very effective. Larsson looked very good aside from that mistake. Volchenkov earned my respect back. I really didn't care for Salvador but he wasn't that bad. Zajac is slumping hard. Gio and Carter were awesome, Henrique fanned on about 7 shots he needs his old blade back the curve is killing his shot in certain in game scenarios.

The thing about kovy i hate that he is so much ahead of his linemates. Like yesterday he made passes that his linemates never expected. "Oh wtf i got the puck and i have half of the net to shoot at, too bad i wasnt ready for the pass"

There are so many ignorant fans where I was sitting that it subconsciously pissed me off. Worst part was they were sober.

But also, great ****ing win in terms of just getting 2 freaking points.

Be happy there were fans next to you, ignorant or not. Maybe you are too young to remember the days when everyone thought the Devils were going to move to Nashville...and that was after a cup run!

That's so funny, me too. Where were you sitting? I was in section 10 row 11

215. my section was empty for a little during the game until like a huge crowd of teens came. Most were rooting for the Jets/against the Devils and idk but I think they may of been from Canada.

I laughed at a person who yelled, "where's Tebow?"

I guess no one wants to answer my question.

I'm very curious as to why Henrique changed the blade of his stick.....

Oates isn't here to tell him otherwise? :dunno:

Maybe he tried something in the off-season that he seemed to like more. It happens a lot so it wouldn't surprise me.
