Pre-Game Talk: Week of We Talkin' 'Bout Practice, Man...

Elite? At what? He never scored over 70 points once in 9 years on Colorado.
These were elite numbers playing at a point per game pace when not many NHLers did during those years. I'm sure many avs fans would agree with me in saying he was elite during his early years in Colorado.

I'd take prime Duchene over prime Rantanen.

I agree but man I just loved him. He was so elite during his Colorado days.

Can't blame me as I was a 14 year old when we drafted him and instantly became my favorite player after Sakic made me a fan.

Every now and then I just catch myself on YouTube watching Duchene highlights specifically from his Colorado days. Man did I think he'd be a top 3 player in the world for a long, long time.
Same here, but he chose his path. Quitters never prosper and he will continue his cupless streak when we bounce his ass in 4.

I get it. He was the first glimmer of hope for the new age Avs and him being a lifelong Avs fan felt like destiny. I own his jersey for that exact reason. But he did just about everything in his power to burn every bridge he built with this fanbase. Jumped ship when the going got tough like a coward and abandoned not only the logo, but his teammates and a core that was clearly on the upswing. "I just want to play playoff hockey." Yeah, bitch. So did Nathan MacKinnon after "not winning shit," but you never once saw him even hint at giving up on the team.

It really is a shame that his legacy is little more than a stain on this organization now, but he made his bed.

The response on the main boards about this are truly hysterical. Bunch of salty motherf***ers.

Someone placed Ovechkin first lmao, 37th in scoring. At least Hughes only got one 5th place vote, which is fair if that person appreciates defensemen.
