And yet, when we played Dallas a few weeks back who was Bednar trusting against Dallas' top line? Kelly-Drury-LOC.

Bednar loves Kelly the same way he loves Kiviranta.

Bednar got so sick of Colton this season he forced him back to the wing. Colton hasn't had a good season outside month 1 when MacKinnon and the PP was carrying him.

Kelly playing and on the PK means less PK time for 13/62. Win for me, better for the team.

Taking depth scoring out of our roster makes us weaker, and that many PKer when we have 4 other good ones besides Lehky and Nuke make us too defense heavy. Just agree to disagree, then.
 
The Colton hate here is out of control... Colton is in the lineup 10 times out of 10 over Kelly. He had a rough stretch coming back after injury but has been more than fine after being moved back to wing.

RE: Colton v Kelly's hits (why is this even a thing here), Colton is way more likely to take himself out of a play making/attempting a big hit, like skating half the sheet to pop somebody, which even if successful is going to take him a few precious seconds to get back to the rest of what's going on. Kelly is very steady and almost always uses his hits to disrupt, not mess people up. Guess which style Bednar prefers.

Holy cow... I knew we didn't have many but it just dawned on me... Gabe, Nate and Cale are the only three players on the team the Avs drafted.

We absolutely suck at developing players. We also don’t really sign free agents(Miles Wood LOL).

If we aren’t making trades or signing overage college kids, we are hopeless.

Almost makes me weep just to behold.

But then again, it led to one cup and I think we are primed for a deeper run this summer.

I agree but man I just loved him. He was so elite during his Colorado days.

Can't blame me as I was a 14 year old when we drafted him and instantly became my favorite player after Sakic made me a fan.

Every now and then I just catch myself on YouTube watching Duchene highlights specifically from his Colorado days. Man did I think he'd be a top 3 player in the world for a long, long time.
