Ya know one thing that annoys the shit outta me? Why does every other team seemingly know how to deflect pucks but the Avs are the kings of "tipped wide!" shots? Like, the only two players who have shown any sort of consistency in this regard are on LTIR. One is set to return on the 15th, the other may never hit the ice again.

Landeskog said he took it upon himself to develop this particular skill, feels like the coaches should take the initiative and take some time in practice to figure out how to deflect pucks properly.

It takes balls to develop this skill.

In the case of the two you’re referring to, viking sized balls and cocaine fuelled balls.

100%. My entire life while playing I HATED going to the front of the net. Hated getting cross checked in front, hated pucks being sent head-high, hated the battles with bigger defensemen.

It takes a certain kind of player to go there.

Well, we know Kovalenko's got balls, Ivan has them, start there.

Bednar's system from my perspective prefers "fly-bys," guys sticking close to the posts and then, when the time is right, they skate through the slot area and screen the goalie, maybe deflect a puck. He doesn't seem to prefer a guy just standing there in the slot, at least not at even strength.

Well, if the org. and Bednar are hell bent on playing Georgiev still at this point, I guess there is no better game than this one. Between the injuries for the Avs and the hot start for the Jets, kind of a scheduled loss anyways I guess. So might as well give Georgiev this shitty game and not mess up Annunen or Kähkönen.

Georgiev in net, Makar not at 100 %, against the best team in the NHL so far which won 12 out of 13 games and is out for revenge against us for last years playoffs.....

Well, prepare for pain.....It will be ugly.....

As a goalie who would take point blank slappers to the head, balls, etc. I can only call you a massive p***y.

It was my favorite role. I wasn't a good center, I didn't defend well, I couldn't shoot well, but I could take a beating and dish it out while just wanting it more.

Have you seen our roster right now?

Missing:

Nichushkin
Drouin
Colton
Wood
Landeskog
Makar (maybe)

Lehkonen has been back for 1 game.

It’s also Georgiev starting the game, statistically the worst goaltender in the NHL for over a year now.

People WAY too worried about a Jets team that analytically gives up as much as they generate. They're not the dominant monsters their record indicates.

Obviously the Avs are in tough missing so many players but the Jets aren't the big bad boogeymen.

As an undersized stay-at-home defenseman I loved it when anyone would try to muscle their way into the net front area. I couldn't move them out but I sure as hell could annoy the shit outta them. Can opener, a little push on the back of the skate, getting in their face, it was fun. Wasn't always successful of course but I made them work for it at least.

I'm not too worried about Winnipeg long term this season, but right now there isn't really a tougher matchup in the league (maybe Florida).

According to Bednar, “he’s ok and could play tomorrow.”

To me, that’s a huge maybe.
Yeah, that usually means day to day, which turns to week to week, then leads to the players being put on IR, and we usually see them back in months

Quinn Hughes became the 3rd fastest defenseman ever to record 300 assist in his career. It took him only 376 games.

Cale Makar has played 328 games and sits at 268 assists. So he has 47 games left to record 32 assists to take that record also away from Hughes and make Vancouver fans mad.
