I'm telling you the guy is probably feeling like he got traded to Buffalo West at this point lol. What a pathetic group of wingers he's had to deal with this season lol.
No kidding... it is a testament to how good he has played that he has put up 14 points. 'Only' 6 of them on the PP. Dude has 7 5v5 points (second on the team behind Makar) mostly playing with a bunch of 3rd and 4th liners (or worse).

Watch him stop putting up points when he has Nuke and Lehky on his wings, because... Avs.

You spelled Ivan and LOC wrong.

Mitts has done this for a few years now, but goodness... just give him something to work with.

I feel like he'd work well with Tyler Toffoli. I don't like Toffoli, but a pure shooter who plays a similar pace to Mitts(slow-ish) and thinks the game pretty well. Type of half-decent shitter Mitts would put up huge points with.

Here's a wild stat... MacK has 10 even strength points this season. 3G 4 1A 3 2A... he has only 4 5v5 points 2 1A and 2 2A. He's feasting 4v4, but been mediocre 5v5 production wise.

I generally feel that Mitts can work with about anybody. Faster/more skilled guys, he simply passes quicker and more knowing his job is to distribute more. Slower/less talented guys, he carries and holds the puck more... and shoots more. I'd like to see him get a run with Mikko. Mikko doesn't play all that fast and doesn't have to... and we know he can rip the puck.

I seriously do not understand why it wasn't tried when Drouin was healthy at the very least.

Drouin Mack Nuke
Lehhky Mitts Mikko

It just makes sooo much sense.

Just put Kovalenko back on that line, Beds. Kivi has less skill, play him on the 3rd line in a pure checker role.
I don't know about that... Kivi produces a lot more individual chances. Kovalenko works hard and can pass, but doesn't shoot and can't finish. Kivi actually shoots the puck. Given Mitts' natural hesitance to shoot himself, you can't have two guys like that on a line and expect a lot of offensive production.

That tracks to me, Mack hasn’t looked amazing to start the year. But Mikko seems to be taking all the heat off of a meh start for Mack.

I like Tynan but clearly he's not a 4th line type of player. Do they not have anyone better suited for those 5 minutes of ice time?

IMO it comes down to teams knowing that if you simply contain the top line and don't give them 2-3 goals at even strength. Odds are you'll win the game. So they simply focus on that and the key is extremely limiting MacK.
