If the Saints end up losing, Payton better end up in the unemployment line. I'm getting tired of him.
Yes he did. He clearly did on the replays by the time he hit the ground/pylon. And if that little jostle of the ball is enough to be a fumble, then McCown should have been charged with a fumble and a fumble recovery when he juggled the ball while being sacked. The reality is that a little jostle like that is not considered a fumble anywhere else on the field. It's considered a fumble cause he didn't have possession when he hit the pylon.
Alright. Well I'm not gunna keep arguing with a wall. If you want to think he had possession of that ball when he hit the pylon then go right ahead. The right call was made. If you want to argue that rules should be changed then I would agree with youAbsolutely not. He still had the ball going out of bounds and there is nothing on the replays to say otherwise.
Not weirder yet than the Flyers-Jets game that ended 9-8this is the weirdest sports game I've ever seen my life

The ball was in his left arm and he didn't fully re establish control in his opposite arm until he was out of bounds. The transition from arm to arm shows a clear loss of possession.
Because they aren't hitting the pylon at the timeSo why isn't it ever called a fumble when runners bobble the ball but regain it before the ball hits the ground?
