Fairly certain there is none. As in, no cap relief. Players on IR count as normal against the cap, but not the roster limit.

Im more intrigued by what the guys in the ranks got before making any trades for starters. Id assume Beane will add some more depth there, though.

Sure, the trade deadline is Nov1 but also keep in mind what loosing a few fringe games cost the Bill's last season with home field in the later round of the playoffs. I Trust in Beane.

On the flip side- the guys in the ranks have had a ton of practice playing in the system. I actually think one of them will prove to be a solid starter, and that's all we need. The bread and butter of the defense this year will (hopefully) be the defensive line generating pressure. That makes life a lot easier for the secondary.

Make no mistake- we're still a strong contender without Hyde. Teams deal with losing great players and still make runs to the superbowl. Von Miller actually reiterated that point earlier today, I believe.

I mean Johnson is now your starter for the season and I presume Cam Lewis the backup. He's a different player, lets see how he looks for a few weeks and if Poyer is healthy too. They like Hamlin also not sure if he can play in Hyde's slot. Lewis looked horrible in preseason safety reps against backups.They have no Safety on the practice squad. I'm sure Malik Boyd (pro personnel director) will be burning the oil the next couple weeks scouting options. The Bills loose some edge on D without Hyde.

Between Johnson being ready to take on Hyde’s role and our pass rush, I feel like we will be okay even with that laundry list of injuries. Get Tua running scared and making bad decisions early and often, that will be the order of the day.

I don't think we're going to look for a starter. I think we're going to look for a depth guy to be a backup, and ride with Johnson/Hamlin and Poyer.

Horrible news. Love Micah's game. Such a dependable player.

One thing of note: The Rams won the Super Bowl last year with rather unremarkable safeties. Nick Scott, a 7th rounder who was looked at as just a special teamer, and also Eric Weddle, who was signed off the street for the playoffs.

It was in the 4th quarter during garbage time. The play looked very routine, but I noticed Hyde was laying on the ground for longer than usual and could tell right away he was hurt, just a freak unfortunate injury.
