Think I’m rooting for Denver to win this with LAC playing NE and Vegas to close. They should win one of those matchups which would eliminate Cincy. Want nothing to do with that offense
Yeah, Cincy's passing attack is lethal....but that's about all they got. Their D is god-awful.

But, that said.....there is this plausible scenario out there:

KC gets 1 seed and a bye
Buffalo vs. Cincy as the 2/7
Pitt vs. LAC as the 3/6
Houston vs Baltimore as the 4/5

We win. LAC find a way to win and the Ravens win.

LAC vs. KC then we get the Ravens.

Bengals/Ravens/Chiefs as our 3 to get to the SB is a dark timeline.

A part of me wants Baltimore. It would be sweet to send them packing in the playoffs again....Nothing against the team but some of their fans are beyond annoying...

Of all the 6-8 teams, the Colts probably have the best chance to make the playoffs given their remaining schedule and if they win out they'll have conference record tiebreak in the event of a 3-way tie. They'll need help in the sense that if it's a 2-way tie with just the Broncos then they lose H2H tiebreak, but if any other 6-8 team (Bengals, Dolphins) also gets to 9-8 they're in.

We're all mentally locking Houston into the 4 seed, but they'll win tiebreakers against Pittsburgh too. If they get back to their early season form and knock off both KC and Baltimore they're probably going to be the 3 seed.

Still a ridiculous amount of ways the final bracket could look

Denver might have forced themselves into a sophies choice a bit here.

They don't own a tiebreaker over:

Pittsburgh, the Ravens, or the Chargers.

The Chargers are playing @ the Patriots and then @ the Raiders. So 2 likely wins there.

So, it will be hard for them to ascend past the last playoff spot unless Baltimore loses 2 out of 3.

If the Chiefs split between the Steelers and the Texans, the Broncos may have the decision:

Beat the Chiefs, play the Chiefs in the wild card
Lose to the Chiefs, play the Bills in the wild card.

Of course, if they lose to Cincy next weekend, it will likely be do or die vs the Chiefs

Anthony Richardson having to play in the elements against our corners? Sign me up for that.

It'd be tough, but imagine Allen slaughtering Burrow, Lamar, and Mahomes (in arrowhead) on his way to his first SB win + MVP? The trash talk we'd have over those teams would be epic.

Alternatively, the SB path that quells no narratives but is still a SB path

KC 1 seed
Buffalo vs Indy 2/7
Pitt vs LAC 3/6
Houston vs Baltimore 4/5

WC
Buffalo wins as they should
Pittsburgh wins because Tomlin voodoo magic and Chargers Chargering
Houston wins even though Stroud is mid because the Ravens pull their classic choke

Divisional
Buffalo wins because of Russ' limitations and Tomlin voodoo magic runs out and Josh is on fire
Houston wins even though Stroud is mid because KC bs magic runs out

AFCCG
Buffalo wins because Stroud is mid and Josh is on fire (average Josh wins the WK5 game, we got terribad Josh that day)

How many outdoor games has CJ played in, and how many of those had elements?

The Texans are getting reffed in Kansas City. What a shock. Completely phantom OPI to kill the drive heading into the half the drive after KC got a friendly 3rd down hold to sustain their TD drive.

LOL that sideline seal was way more OPI than they called against Houston and now another defensive holding to cancel a sack that has the color guy just laughing in puzzlement.

Texans are hanging around in this one, though that injury to Dell looks baaaaaaad. Yikes.

Watching the Chiefs play is the most frustrating exercise.

They execute easy plays at a high level. They don't do many splash plays.

So it makes stopping their offense hard even if they are just chipping away. They don't typically go 3 and out, so even if they are just flipping the field.

It's even more frustrating when they do get stopped and they get bailed out by ticky tack calls.

Their defense is good enough they don't get put in situations where they have to play catch up typically.

The key is stopping them on 1st and 2nd down so you can attack their weakness at tackle on 3rd and long.

Houston hasn't done that today.

Texans will get a stop here.

Drive down and score a TD.

Get the 2 point conversion...but they'll throw a phantom flag. Back it up and re-try, and fail with a no-call. Chiefs win.

That was easily the best KC's offense has played pretty much the entire season. Or Houston just played horrendously on defense. One or the other.

Both offensive possessions with the lead in the 4th quarter were situations that they had been going 3 and out in all year long keeping other teams in the game.

Adding a legit WR is Hollywood Brown back into the mix definitely helps them a ton. They're also finding an O-line combination that is adequate for them. Still relying on their defense to make plays for them, but their offense is going to be good enough to win games in the postseason if the other team doesn't bring their A-game.

KC was fine on offense.

Houston lost for 2 big reasons:

1. They couldn't force the Chiefs to third and long enough.
2. The phantom OPI call. They were driving on the KC 30, made it 2nd and 20. Instead of getting at least 3 points, it turned into an INT and KC went down and kicked a field goal. A six point swing right before the half.

KC offense was OK. Those two factors above let them play down hill in the second half and keep Houston off the field.

The worst part of this is we have to root for Pittsburgh next week. Ugh.

Overall though, none of this matters if we don't win out. We lose tomorrow, KC Clinches the 1 seed.
