He’s not 264. Those are listed weights.

By 1994, Bruce Smith was no longer around 275. He was 253. It’s just the listed weight.

Washington is probably around 280.
Even if he is 280, he's still significantly smaller than the guys they have been using as the 6th OL.

And there is no spot for him on this roster as he is not replacing Q Morris as a core STs guy. And they are not dressing 4 TEs on gameday.

So, do they go for a big time add like Myles or a couple cheaper adds like a starting S and a big boy to add on the interior line? Or do they not make anymore moves?

Anyone else intrigued by Carter? Not sure how long he's out, but he was making some splash plays before his injury. I wonder if he can take over starter reps from Jones?

I won't be surprised if the move on the DL is releasing Logue and signing Ankou to the 53.

And I expect Garrett to be beyond what Beane is willing to give up. He's already traded a 3rd for Cooper. I expect that if he makes another trade, it will be for a 5th or 6th round pick and it will be for more depth as opposed to a starter.

It's petty and I know he got a pick yesterday (off a tip/drop) but I love that Allen is now 6-0 versus Jalen Ramsey teams since Ramsey called him "trash" before he ever played an actual game.

Love that kick for Bass. He needed it.

• It’s known around the league that the New York Giants, sitting in last place in the NFC East, are shopping young edge rusher Azeez Ojulari. Teams that are keeping an eye on the 24-year-old include the Falcons, Cardinals and Bengals. The Giants are already paying Brian Burns and spent a top-five pick on Kayvon Thibodeaux, so with Ojulari set to hit free agency after the season, GM Joe Schoen is trying to get something in return for him now.

• This isn’t breaking any news, but it makes sense: The Denver Broncos love what they are building with their young players, especially after their best offensive performance of the season last week (28 points on four Bo Nix touchdowns). Defensive coordinator Vance Joseph has been a superstar, orchestrating a unit that has slowed down some high-powered offenses this year. Still, I don’t expect the Broncos to be buyers or sellers. You can add the Las Vegas Raiders, Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints to this group.

• No surprise: Buffalo safety Mike Edwards is available, and so is Jaguars five-time Pro Bowl guard Brandon Scherff.

I wonder if Ojulari is someone on Beane's radar if Smoot is out for a while...

We were a Diggs dropped TD and a missed FG away from beating the Super Bowl champion last year.
- man who bought afc championship tickets when Davis scored with 13 seconds left
E: also like, that diggs drop happened with over half of the quarter left. They aren’t winning the game there. The missed fg ties the game with plenty of time left for a go-ahead fg. If you want to say that if everything that went wrong for the bills instead went right I guess I can’t argue that the result would be different but that’s not how it goes

Trade Deadline

Simply put, the Buffalo Bills defensive line needs to make more of an impact, and I want Brandon Beane to make a trade ahead of Tuesday’s deadline. Even when Tua Tagovailoa held onto the ball, the Bills could barely sniff him.

On plays in which he held the ball longer than 2.5 seconds, Tagovailoa was 11-for-13 with an EPA/dropback of +.47, the second-best of any quarterback in Week Nine. Buffalo only pressured him 36 percent of the time in those instances, ranking 26 out of 30 in the NFL in Week Nine.

Here’s a list of players Beane should pursue:

  • Azeez Ojulari, New York Giants
  • Chase Young, New Orleans Saints
  • Cam Jordan, New Orleans Saints
  • Zadarus Smith, Cleveland Browns
  • Jadeveon Clowney, Carolina Panthers
  • Sebastian Joseph-Day, Tennessee Titans
  • Arden Key, Tennessee Titans
  • Dalvin Tomlinson, Cleveland Browns
  • Arik Armstead, Jacksonville Jaguars

I can't imagine that if Smoot is out a while that Beane will target a guy who's pretty exclusively a pass rusher. Smoot is a bit of a do-it-all guy who can defend the run well enough PLUS get after the passer.

I'd think someone like Clowney or Chase Young would be more along the lines of what Beane would be looking for.....though probably a cheaper version of either of those 2.

Will fix everything
I have absolutely no idea how next week is going to go.

Flacco is such a boom or bust QB at this point.

If I am Indy I'm trying to ram Taylor down our throats all game. I'm not sure they have a good enough passing game to get us into light boxes like Miami/Baltimore does though.

Their defense seems to be settling in, holding Houston to 23 on the road, holding Minnesota to 21 on the road.

Light boxes is how the Bills live on defense.

Their base defense is 4-2-5 Nickel with two high safeties. I doubt the Bills change that against the Colts.

Minnesota was able to move the ball well on them but had some misfortunes similar to the Bills yesterday--kicker missed from 30-ish yards out right before half, and Darnold threw a horrendous red zone INT on 3rd and short when he missed his first read coming wide open on a slant and could've either scrambled for the first or thrown the ball away. The interior OL will need to be stout, though. Stewart was single-handedly blowing up some plays against double blocks by Minny's center and guard.

It’s been a fun season to see some clown franchises clowning it up. Cowboys, Jets, and Dolphins all dumpster fires.
Hoping Miami burns more future draft capital in stupid win now trades to try for a heroic run to 7th place in the AFC and then loses on MNF to the Rams.

Carter I think is mostly just a backup 3-teach, rotating with Oliver. I don't think he's played much 1-tech.

If they want to make a move at 1-tech, Dalvin Tomlinson is probably the most interesting trade target. Bryan Mone is a giant nose and a free agent, but the Bills have never shown much interest in pure space eating types. Not sure who else is out there.

So you're trading 20 pounds for the ability to run a route. Against ends and linebackers, I'd take that tradeoff all day. There are plenty of videos out there of Washington rag dolling ends and linebackers. So it's not like not being 300 pounds is dragging his effectiveness down.

Why not have 4 TEs? They are regualarly in 3 TE formations. I'd have 4 TEs on the team and dress all 4. TEs can play STs.
