My hope for this year was to win the division and a playoff game, while identifying what’s working and what’s not going into an off-season with plenty of assets. We had a lot of players that we were hoping to grab onto roles, and for the most part, they have. I think starting next year, this is going to be a ridiculously good team. Don’t get me wrong, they are a top 5 team right now, but they have some issues.

How many of those chunk plays have been Hamlin's responsibility, though?

The Hail Mary was way more on Taron Johnson than Hamlin. TJ was in front of the receiver and fell down instead of keeping his balance so that he was in position to knock the ball down.

The big pass play to Nico Collins was on Bishop.

When you are getting gashed in the run game, I am not going to point the finger at Rapp or Hamlin when they are lined up 15+ yards off of the line of scrimmage.

Hamlin isn't perfect. But, he isn't the liability that a lot of people are trying to make him out as, either. And a lot of people that are critical of Hamlin's play do not have any idea what Babich and the rest of the coaches are asking Hamlin to do.

If Davidson is elevated, that will point to Kincaid missing the game. If he isn't, that will point to Kincaid being good to go.

Yeah I’m going to just agree to disagree here. I think Hamlin is by far the biggest problem on the defense. You may be right that they’re coaching him to e over cautious and stay deep no matter what, but that in and of itself is indicative of the way he’s being a drag on the entire defensive unit. That is never how the Bills have coached their defense. They’ve always been about having their safeties bemultiple and react quickly to condense room. If indeed they’re telling him to play like this, it’s because they don’t trust him to play like a real safety.

I mostly wish they were getting Bishop reps and let him go through the growing pains to see if he can be a plus starter by the playoffs. His floor may be lower than Hamlin, but gosh Hamlin’s decidedly below average ceiling is frustrating.

There’s a reason all those Detroit teams sucked though. The 9 runs for 8 yards have more impact than the one for 50.

I think Hamlin is the clear weak link. (But I think an elite DT next to Oliver would make the biggest improvement for this team.)

The challenge there is that I bet they would rather wait until Bishop has had a full offseason before they go down that path. Much like how Bernard and Williams looked bad in small sample sizes as rookies and were able to step up as year 2 starters.

It wouldn't shock me if they felt that Bishop would be too much of a liability this year and they don't want more of those plays like the 60+ yard TD to Collins that Bishop gave up because he misread the play.

The Bills have been clear that their #1 priority on defense is to limit chunk plays in the passing game. That's why they play nickel or dime 95%+ of the time.

Plus, Babich has been blitzing less and playing 2 high safeties more as compared to when McD was calling the defense last year. And as fans, we have no idea why that is. We just have to guess.

If Brady is coaching that game, we win. One of the great things about Brady compared to other OCs is he isnt afraid to rely on the run. Daboll still wanted Allen to be the focal point of wins even in a damn near hurricane!

First of all, we have to define the terms we're using here - I don't see the actual stat available anywhere, but anytime I've seen "explosive plays" discussed, it has a different yardage requirement for runs (10+) than passes(20+). So yes, it is by definition "better" to give up more explosive runs than passes. I also don't love 10 yards being the metric for "explosive run". Give up a 10 yard draw on 3rd and 17 and you've given up an "explosive play" but you've also forced a punt. Seems sketchy (which is why stats like DVOA and EPA are vastly superior to raw yards allowed and things like "explosive plays" which can't even maintain a consistent definition between runs and passes)

since I don't know what it's like to travel w tour nfl 2024 nor the ins and outs from the scripts of pr and promotion for those employed w the nfl

I'm still happy for buffalo we have Ryan Fitz supporting us against NYC and the wwe zebras

It's shines a kind light on buffalo in these strange hunger games times w sports hopefully winning over 58 minutes especially leading up to a challenging and quite entertaining game that blurs all lines of opposition in nature for both teams at 4 on Sunday

Joe Brady​

The Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator has gone through quite a bit over the past five years.

He was viewed as the next wunderkind after guiding quarterback Joe Burrow and LSU to a historic offensive output during the 2019 national championship run, and the Carolina Panthers scooped him up as their OC the following season. That experiment failed, but hindsight has since indicated that it was more about the organization than Brady.

He joined the Bills staff in 2022 and was promoted to offensive coordinator midway through 2023, putting more emphasis on the ground game that helped spark quarterback Josh Allen’s midseason revival.

With the Bills back in contention and the offense scoring the third most points in the league, the 35-year-old Brady should get some interview requests.
