Veteran/elite teams get calls over young/terrible teams all the time. It's been like this for a long time.

In talking to Peel, you start to see a pattern: The NHL asks its officials to manage the game a certain way, and they have to do it.

I've seen a group of bottom pairing defensemen go out and get beat with such regularity. Reinhart, Gryba, Ference, Davidson; it doesn't seem to matter who dresses. They go out and bleed goals. Every single game.
