Bunting and Kerfoot in the top six? Every player in the Leafs bottom six besides Spezza is either damaged goods or were never good. It’s just not a good roster. They could try their very hardest and it wouldn’t be good. 2019 was the best Leafs iteration and was probably only a piece or two away from a Cup, and it lost Anderson, Hyman, Kadri, Brown, Kapanen and Johnsson and has nothing in the lineup to show for it besides Kerfoot.

The guy that spent 50% of the cap on 4 similar forwards and chose poorly on those 4. Tavares was not needed and Marner is so over rated and over paid

Kampf should move down to 4C. The idea of a shutdown 3rd line is cute...but we're struggling just to score. Can make a shutdown 4th line and when playing teams with a high offensive unit, just shift them more.
Engvall is amazing, and then useless and gutless until he gets benched again. I'd sit him at this point personally. If you aren't going to play Ritchie with Matthews-Marner or Tavares-Nylander, you might as well send him to the minors. He's a big body infront to smack pucks home for all the chances your stars create. If you're not gonna use him that way, he provides very little value.
Call up/ sign Ho-Sang to an NHL deal. This team needs a shot of offence (as sad as that is).
Promote Spezza, he's earned it and then some. Put speed on his wings.

Ritchie-Matthews-Marner
Bunting-Tavares-Ho-Sang
Kerfoot-Spezza-Nylander
Simmonds-Kampf-Kase

Come at them in waves imo. Seems like currently we have a shutdown third line that produces next to nothing, and then a 4th line with Spezza that we barely use. Likely not gonna happen, but I'd like to see it.

They havent' gone through many coaches. Just 1 actually with this brass
Babcock was arrogant, but Babs lost in the playoffs to good teams in Boston and Washington

Unlike Keefe, losing to Columbus and the shit show last year against the Habs

Kappy, AJ, Kadri, JVR, Hyman, Ennis, -- all quality players and had a definite role on this team...all gone now.

Was it though? They still generated little to no dangerous chances and were skated into the ground in their own zone. I just want this team to shut up about effort and just fix the problem already.

I do wonder where these guys heads are... I mean, I am no expert, but I felt the Canes outworked us for at least 80% of the game. We got some pressure on the in the 3rd because they stopped attacking. If that is what this team thinks is going to get it done then there really is no hope for them.

If we lose @ CHI on Wednesday... ha ha, omg. I expect we will.

Babs had us missing the playoffs 2 seasons ago. Let's not get crazy here.

The ONLY reason for bringing back Babcock is if you want someone to harass and abuse this team because you hate them.

It won't lead to a better hockey team, but at least the players lives would be as miserable as they make ours.

Split up the PP so Marner can be a QB again. He might not score but maybe he can set someone up. Put Nylander and JT on unit two or put JT in bumper and Nylander down low. That first unit looks so bad I want to puke when they're all out there.

Hate to be the one to tell you this, but this team has way more issues than one setup on the powerplay. This team is fundamentally broken.

For 11 million you would certainly hope that Marner and Matthews wouldn't be getting outworked. It's really clear that Marner and JT are simply not worth their contracts, like at all. Matthews I can get because he's usually good on D, is the league's 1st or second best goal scorer and is usually solid in the playoffs.

I mean i get what you're saying but it's also this..Marner looks like he needs to eat a sandwich or two...The guy goes into the corner and looks so little and scared that he barely comes up with the puck...Is he just that weak? Lazy? No clue but i wish he was a bit stronger...Matthews i actually have less issues with as he does do great work on d and isnt doing too poorly in offensive zone either. Nylander is same old story...Just looks like he's in the All Star Game(not taking the game as smething serious)..On a rare occasion when he does engage, that guy is actually quite strong and can win those battles(but again you constantly have to fire him up for it). These guys are paid to score though and it looks like they have way more work for them this year(without the battling ability of Hyman and similar players we gave up)...I doubt it will get much better(players don't change that easily) so it's going to be a depressing season if something significant doesn't change.
