Safe to say some rather be right then cheer for their own team. News flash, Lou isn't our GM anymore.
Maybe I should make a thread on Carlyle? He got to the conference finals after leaving us.

But those aren't comparable. Two different teams. I meant that Lou would have made similar moves for guys like Foligno, Nash and Rittich. Is that not reasonable had he still been here? He had no problem dealing picks for players.
Trading picks for players that help your team is much different than trading even more picks for players that don’t.

I don’t think Lou is in this mess had he been the one to make the moves after the first Boston loss, so it’s really tough to know how he’d be walking in this mess.

Apples and oranges. Lou is President and GM with NYI. They also have a different playoff path. Good on them for their success though.

I agree, but I could see Lou making nearly identical moves that Dubas did this past deadline. Lou made the moves for Plekanec and Boyle, I think he'd make the moves especially for Foligno and Smith, because they seemed like fits. Those are very Lou type of players. Lou is still in the playoffs, Dubas isnt. People are fixated on that and quite frankly, I don't get it.

I'd take Lou era plekanec over Foligno to be honest. Foligno was totally cooked no idea what the hell Dubas was doing with that trade.

A “different” playoff path?

Please tell me you’re not that foolish to try and suggest beating Pittsburgh and Boston was easier than beating Montreal or Winnipeg.

Your embarrassing yourself with a comment like that.

I don’t, because I never see the team being structured so top heavy. For me in particular, I really appreciate his interest in strength down the middle. Like with Boyle and Plekanec, he’s acquired Pageau and Zajac for 5 very good centreman and his team wins with depth and balance.

The Leafs are in a completely different situation. There’s a sharp drop after Tavares, and it falls off a cliff after Kerfoot
