Post-Game Talk: We Blew a 3-0 Lead in the Third Period to the Oilers

And if we didn't totally f*** up the 2003 draft we'd have won multiple Cups from 2012-15.

Imagine Mike Richards leading that 2012 Black and Blueshirts team that was the hardest to play against in the league?

Imagine if we had Patrice Bergeron to go against Kopitar in 2014 or leading us into Game 7 against Tampa?

Ryan Getzlaf?
The way we develop, Bergeron becomes Manny Malhotra and Mike Richards breaks out after we trade him to Tampa.

Picking isn't the problem.

Every scout and his dog would have taken the guys we picked.

At this point, I don't know if we can do that.

Damage has been done to the point where a bunch of minutes isn't going to make it better.
These are guys who have always been the best player on their team. They don’t know how to be passengers. Time to let them drive. If they crash, fine—they are already spinning out of control.

21-23-4 including playoffs since we had the chance to take first against the Canes right before the playoffs.

If I were Drury, I’d pull Laf and Kakko into a meeting, tell them the team is now theirs, and write another letter to the fans.
How do you do this though? As promising as Kakko has looked at times and with Lafreniere being a #1 overall pick, there's nothing I've seen from either of them that suggests they're ready to get the keys to the car.

I'd sooner cut my losses on both than give them larger roles.

Turk is trash.

He lets them play pond hockey on offense. Has no defensive structure. Its a go where you think you should be. Nobody knows where they are going on defense which causes confusion and defensive lapses. I have no idea what the assistant coaches do either. The lineups change for 2 periods and as soon as their is some adversity, gallant goes back to his old ways. He wore out his welcome every place he went and this is why.

Time to bring in someone else who can impliment systems
That's all fine and well, but you need the players to buy into the system....this bunch is determined to do what THEY want to do -- Zib said as much when DQ was coach.

Hey, I still think Hugh Jessiman is going to make it as an NHLer. He still has time!

And what are we doing with Panarin and Zibanejad (who has a full NMC)?

I'm all for giving them more minutes and just sticking with it, but they have to learn how to share the pie. If they can't, then they're not that good.

Gretzky’s presence demanded respect in the locker room too. You can tell by his 161-219-45 coaching record.
Gretzky didn't have the presence Messier has. Gretzky can't scare many people.

When the Lafreniere/Kakko story is written, I'm curious to see what the vets thought of them in the first practices during the COVID seasons. It's a hard thing to read, but I never got the vibe of like, sincere wonderment at getting to play with these guys when I'd watch interviews from the chattier vets like Strome and Trouba

Im praying Dolan makes a “knee jerk” move after this game, it might be our only hope to salvage this clusterf*** of a team

Same shit; different day with Dolan. He'll either hang on too long to a shitty executive (see Sather) or he'll run through shitty executes (Layden, Isiah, Grunfeld, Mills, Leon Rose...)

That’s bad asset management. Give them PP time and they will put up points and you can get more for them. There’s no reason to cut bait while their value is so low.

I don't think people realize how dire it is. Our chances of making the playoffs have plummeted.

We're in no mans land right now.... We're neck and neck with Montreal... THE f***IN CANADIENS ( technically they have better points%) Florida is there too.

I no longer believe in this team

Don't care. Tocchet, Tippett, Trotz. Any other T's. I really don't give a flying f***. Frankly, I would fire Drury and then fire the coaches, but Drury is going to be our new Sather. Hire Andrew Burnette the second you can.
As long as The Dolt owns the team, management is going to be filled with wishy-washy yes men.
