Post-Game Talk: We’re all smilin with you tonight Stu

I'd like him at the party too!

I've had friends like that who were the party person in the room of 100's. Just exudes persona. I like that aspect of him as well. He's a boss in every aspect. Would be a fascinating guy to know.

Tom Wilson has been running roughshod in these first two rounds. Hitting, playing dirty, mocking the fans and opposition.

IF we were to meet Washington in the finals... would anyone here at all be worried about him? Nope. Because we all know Kane would make it his personal mission to out-Wilson Wilson.

Its not even about fighting necessarily (Im not sure Wilson isn't a tougher fighter than Kane), its about that attitude and swagger you're talking about. He welcomes that kind of stuff, whereas most players are intimidated by it.

He took Tkachuk completely out of the series in 2023 and took Zadorov out of the series in 2024.

He's sort of like a relic from a bygone era in that regard. He'd fit right in in 1995, alongside the Tocchet, Shanahan, Clark and Roberts types.

Stu had a great game, the team had a great game. Kap was a factor, the physical play to start the game was key. They got into Hill’s head and the idiot lost his mind. I don’t expect that kind of game in game 5 but you see what the team is capable of.

Skinner had a great game but he will throw a great one in every so often. It does not make up for the stretch of terrible games he has, I would not be anointing him the starter going forward. Would rather have Pickard in there, I do believe if he was in net tonight the way the team played it would have been the same result. Props to Stu, hopefully he keeps it going in game 5 that Vegas crowd will be on his arse.

I may have been one of the few who was consistent in my optimism for this team once playoffs came around. Management didn’t do themselves any favours with the ins/outs in the offseason but the deadline moves have all paid massive dividends.

I think some people really underestimated what multiple deep playoff runs can do to a regular season mindset.

I cautioned everybody to not judge the vets until the playoffs and, lo and behold, the Oilers 3rd line from last playoffs have been terrific on different lines this playoffs as has the Bowman in season acquisitions.

Leon didn't get any points but he was much better tonight, a much needed performance from the big man.
His line's job was to shutdown Eichel's line and they were very effective. They played very well.

A shout-out to how the team managed the puck all night and especially in the third. Just kept wrapping it around the ozone, bring it high, throw it deep, kill the clock. No need for risky plays or to lose possession. Smart, smart hockey when you've got a lead. They gave vegas nothing.

The Oilers' and Knoblauch's affinity toward Skinner reminds me of Al Pacino from the movie 'Two for the Money." He runs a sports betting advisory firm or something and he has a guy who runs models who is reliable, but consistently mediocre. He's a gambling addict and prefers Matthew McConaughey's intuitive style that results in long streaks of tremendous picks, but also long streaks of terrible ones.

Maybe the Oilers' brass are just gambling addicts and Stu is their fix.

It sounds more and more he is done for the year. Hopefully he will be back next year

Ekholm can be the 2026 LTIR, with Walman on the team, their D group can sustain the regular season. :)

Use the LTIR money to get a big time goalie or shore up the forwards (Boeser or Marner)

Be the league's public enemy #1, embrace the role now
