Post-Game Talk: We’re all smilin with you tonight Stu

I had zero confidence heading into this game. Stu, Kapanen and Bouchard played really well. Those 3 will need to repeat their performances 10 times in a row before I can believe in them again. In the meantime, it is good to see them all do well and put forth a solid performance. Surprised me alot.

Could maybe see Stu and Kapanen but Bouchard? The guy has been unreal. He has defensive lapses yes but the puck is also on his stick the most out of any Oilers d man. His contributions to the offense are a net positive when compared to his defensive lapses and it isn't even close.

Honestly i don't love the line changing, it worked, but long term I don't see it.

We do know that a small line up change/ a line combo change seems to give this team a 1 game boost.

Everything was looking good expect for Leon and his 4th line wingers. Doubt this would cut it vs Dallas.
Why do you say that? Knoblauch mentioned the Draisaitl line was purposely hard matched to the Eichel line in a shutdown role. It worked because they held that line to 1 shot all game.

Despite the total dominance the advanced stats are relatively close in this game. Sure some of it is score effects but this is why I don't always put a ton of stock into these things.

Podz-Drai-Kapanen line was great in regular season and arguable our most stable line 5 on 5.
This line went head to head against Eichel line last night and neutralized them.
One can easily argue that Nuge-McD-Hyman line will have more problems than this line if we face Dallas .

I know some have been "grumpy" about Bouchard, but he's truly becoming that true #1 defenseman in these playoffs. Pay that guy.

When he elevates his play like he has and in last years playoffs I’m all in and can live with the warts. Looking for the consistency to have the elevation be more the day to day play. The one site that projects contracts which is pretty accurate has him at about 7x10.6 I think.

Bouchards had far more good games than bad games.

Lol Cassidy saying in the post game he's going to get the league to look into why we didn't get more penalties for going into the crease. Unreal.

He also gave us a lot of credit, said we played a playoffs winning game in a number of fashions and there's a reason we were within a goal last year.
I didn't listen to the post-game so I didn't hear that but this f***ing guy. The amount of entitlement is out of control. What an absolute whining dipshit. Every f***ing game this guy is calling out the refs after them completely and utterly favouring his dirty, diving, piece of shit team. This makes me so mad. I guess when you are Bobblehead's pet team you are used to absolutely everything going your way and when it doesn't you can whine like a petulant child.

How is this guy just allowed to continually call the league and the refs out and absolutely nothing happens? No fines, no statements from the NHL, no consequences. If the Oilers said 1/10th the shit this f***er does they'd be raked over the coals. And we all saw how that one c**ksu**er ref held a grudge against McDavid for years for simply pointing upstairs. The refs would f*** over the Oilers even harder if they said anything. It's the same as the LTIR rule. As long as Vegas does it, it's fine, but the Oilers try it and watch the league come down with all sorts of bullshit against them. So f***ing sick of this 2-tiered league and the bullshit we have to put up with as fans of a Canadian team.

f*** I hate Vegas so so so so so so soooooooooooooo fuuuuuuuuuuucking much. Clown organization with a clown coach and clown f***ing players.

Went to the game, could tell the Oilers players and fans were getting into Hill's head. Not sure how he didn't get a penalty last night for embellishment, slashing (a couple of times) or roughing. More banging around his crease please, he seems like he will crumble mentally if we keep pestering him.

Putting Stecher back in was a 2 for 1 special: Upgraded Emberson and revived Nurse! Man Stecher is a gamer.

I haven't been liking Henrique's games but that was one of his better performances as an Oiler.

Kane is such a weapon. Stu was great.

Win the next one. That is all.
