Buffalo Bills WCW: (7) Denver at (2) Buffalo; Sunday 1/12, 1:00 PM, CBS

Oh I agree that Allen shouldn't have won it last year. Lamar was the right call. Just annoyed that the rationale for Lamar last year is the same rationale for Allen this year but now the goalposts seem to be moving back to a stats-driven argument.

It's weird. My guess is that Allen still wins the MVP with Lamar getting the All Pro vote as basically their way to splitting the difference. All Pro goes to "best stats" (though by that logic Burrows should have won it), MVP goes to "Most valuable to their team".

I live in Ohio and count several Bengals fans among my close friends and the degree to which they believe that the NFL has a conspiracy against them is INSANE.

Likely just mirroring what their team is saying. The Bengals might be the thinnest skinned franchise I've ever seen.

Allen no longer the favorite for MVP. It’s a bummer. I don’t know what else he could do to earn it.

I guess that only matter when it’s convenient to your argument

I mean, it's most valuable player. How can that not be Josh if we only have one other pro-bowler on the original ballot, no other any team all-pros, and a coach who's not even in coach of the year discussions?

We're tied for the 3rd best team in football in point differential, which is generally accepted to be a decent proxy for team performance, and would have been 2nd if we gave the slightest of shits about the 17th game. We were 4th in DVOA, one of the best advanced metrics, 4th in FPI (3rd offensively) and essentially finished 2 games ahead of Baltimore.

What are we just doing it all with voodoo and smoke and mirrors or something? It's ridiculous how little respect this team is getting. Both ESPN and NFL.com have analysts predicting a Denver win. The most likely upset in the AFC in the 1st round is Baltimore, because they're missing their #1 WR, divisional opponent, and their offense's history in the playoffs. And God I hope it happens at this point.

Bills fans know what we have with Josh Allen.

Voters can keep being wrong. It only delegitimizes them, not Josh. We know we’ve got. They can give Lamar as many fake MVPs as they want; we all know Josh is the better player and goes 1st in a redraft 100 times out of 100.

Team with the most points scored the last 5 seasons: Bills
1st team All Pros on offense in that time: Diggs (2020)

Lamar Jackson career total TDs: 199
Josh Allen career total TDs: 260

Lamar Jackson career total yards: 26,232
Josh Allen career total yard: 30,576

Lamar Jackson career record: 74-29
Josh Allen career record: 76-35

Lamar Jackson MVPs: 2 (soon to be 3)
Josh Allen MVPs: 0

Makes sense…

They aren’t even close…and that’s regular season stats.

It’s a real yikes if you compare playoff stats

Such a stupid, stupid thing to be worried about. Allen is going to be remembered more fondly than Lamar when it's all said and done because he played in more important playoff games.

My guy Sawyer making a huge play. He’s still an option for Buffalo if Babich thinks Rousseau can be as effective as a right end. Sawyer is a Chris Kelsay clone who is almost exclusively a LE.

I bet he'll be there in the 3rd round. Might make sense for Buffalo since we run so much of a rotation in McDermott's scheme.

I think Sawyer is going to have a similar draft experience as Kelsay. Kelsay was projected as a 1st rounder going into the season, had a good season at Nebraska, but tested poorly at the combine, and went in the 2nd round.

In the grand scheme of the world does it matter if Josh Allen has won an MVP or if someone on the roster is first team All Pro? No, of course not, Super Bowl or bust.

Does it get old in a hurry when this team and players are overlooked and/or disrespected year after year after year when some of them deserve to be recognized? Yes

Maybe we should thank the voters for saving the team cap room by not having MVPs and first team All Pros on the roste since they are more expensive to keep, lol.

This was the Best gift Josh and the O line and our "weak" Dline and our "crap" d could get.

Thank You AP , nfl and the players.

Love It

Show up drunk pissed but humble ( kind to broncos fans ) and remind the NFL what it feels like consistently, whatever bs goes on ; with complete Faith on every Denver possession , to play at Rich\highmark .

I'm actually in. awe of Josh Allen , we are lucky to watch this entire team and coaching staff as we've waited weeks for a game that matters.

It's quite possible we May be prepared to play the broncos who beat us last year.., just maybe ...

Go D

Go Buffalo.

I never want Josh to win MVP. That award is a bullshit popularity contest. Never. Be the most overlooked QB in history, but win it all a few times.

My official upset pick of the weekend is Steelers over Ravens.

Steelers keep it close and Lamar makes a game turning play (in a bad way) late in the game.

People have been shitting on the steelers all week, talk about firing the coach, giving them no chance, etc. Steelers also have been on the wrong side of turnovers bounces. Think there is some correction there.

I think the Bills/Broncos game will be close-ish in the first half, but I think Buffalo is able to pull away late. A two or three game with a garbage time TD that makes it look closer than it was. I think we'll have more success running than people think.

The six man front and good blocking by the TEs/WRs will spring at least one long running play. I think leaving all the O-line off the all pro is something they will take very personally. I also think Ed Oliver shows up to play as well.

Allen will have a solid game but probably underwhelming number wise. Like 20/25, 200 yards, 2 TDs, but we'll score 35 pts or something like that.

After talking to a Denver fan, I'm not expecting the D line to get much pressure. I'd love to be wrong, but they've gone AWOL too many times in the post season, and Denver is great at pass protection. Ed Oliver has been so dam underwhelming this season outside of the Detroit game where he was a menace. It'd be great if that Oliver showed up, but I dont expect it. Upgrading Jones next year will go a long way for him.

I believe Allen will have a big game. From what the Denver fan said, they struggle against mobile QBs. They have a great pass rush, and Surtain is a beast, but they still dont rank out as a great pass defense. Their safeties leave a lot to be desired. This is a game where Surtain is going to lock his man down, but Allen can find weaknesses to exploit in the secondary + get the ball out quickly. If all else fails, his legs will be deadly.

Any given Sunday and all that jazz, but I think the Bills take it by two scores. I am worried about the pass rush not getting any pressure, but Nix is a rookie, and McD has shown he makes it tough on rookies in the past. I just hope this doesn't go like the Pats (1st one) game where we're dominated at the LoS, and the Broncos have long drives. That is how they'll win this game + getting home with their pressure.

I’m sorry but neither of these teams stand a chance next week.

Chargers are clearly the better team but their offense will get eaten alive by the chiefs.
