Where are you all watching Sutter?

Hammond's replacement doesn't do a great job with that kind of thing.

I was calling for Toffoli to play after game 2 loss to Blues. Looks like he is here to stay. More comfortable every game. It is not going to matter what line he plays on, because he can create chances for himself and teammates...and has the second best wrister after Carter. I think no matter where Sutter puts him, he will produce and it also seems he will get #2 Powerplay time for sure.

I wanna give props to Brown for goal the tying goal. He was pushed from behind and still got his stick on it and buried it!

Props also to Muzzin - see the replay of the winning goal. He made that long pass to Toffoli, that got through everyone, right on Toffoli's stick. Without that pass...no goal.

And finally, Richardson made a nice play with a backhand saucer pass, over the Shark player to Doughty on his blast for the second goal. And Richardson went hard to the net to draw a penalty as well and played pretty well. If Stoll comes back, I would keep Richardson in over Fraser for sure.

Rewatching the last bit of the game, a couple things stand out.

First, that power play was all about Sutter's bench management. There was a TV timeout, and he put Kopitar out with Penner and Toffoli, for a draw in the San Jose zone. That shift generated the first penalty. He put exactly the right guys out there, guys who had been hungry all game.

Second, for the delay of game penalty, the very first replay they show, if you watch it quickly, you can see Vlasic flick the puck up and it travels right along Carter's sleeve. It looked like it grazed it, but didn't change direction. A close call, but the announcer said something like "the official in the neutral zone (Brad Watson?) motioned immediately for the penalty box," indicating that he at least thought he had a good look at it. Then the other officials confer, and they agree it's a penalty.

Third, for the first power play goal, the five-on-three, it was all about Richards. He manufactured that goal. The Kings moved it around the point a little bit, tried to get some shots but really didn't make much progress. Then Doughty got the puck over to Richards at the left circle, Carter and Brown were in front, and Richards had a bit of room. He had nothing to shoot at but Niemi's bulk, and he just put it right into Niemi, looking to generate exactly the rebound and scramble that he did. It was a pure veteran play, a Mike Richards play.

And fourth, the goal by Lewis was all about Toffoli's hunger. He's got a nose for the net and a spring in his step, and he showed that all night. Every time he gets the puck, he just goes for it. I'm thrilled we have this kid on the team.

I laughed when a reporter asked did he think his team was being tentative and Sutter answers with .. no, but we had a lot of shots blocked. Oh Sutter.

Boys, that was unreal but remember that we were also down 2-0 last series. I know the Kings have a bunch of veterans but the series is FAR from over. It should be 1-1 right now, that was robbery!

First rate.

Just prior to Doughty's PP goal from Richardson, I said to the wife, "WTF? Why is THIS line out on the PP. Sutter is a madman."

Doughty scores.

"Maybe he's a madman," my wife said, "but he knows a lot more about hockey than you do."

Robbery? Heck, the Kings are still wanted in the state of Missouri for that.

Seems like my voice might be back to normal... Not only did I scare my cats after the Lewis goal...I scared my neighbor's cat as well... Can't wait to get out of this apartment though...

Mind if I use that as a signature? That's gold.
