The Kings wound up peppering Niemi in the 3rd. The Sharks were just about up 2 to 1 on shots and then the Kings launched 18 in the third and we ended up tying with 31 shots a piece.

I love that rule and I hate when people ***** about it. Before the rule, players would flip the puck out of play all of the time. Especially when killing a penalty.
Sucks for SJ, but those were both penalties. Can't blame the refs for making the calls. Blame the SJ PL, it was terrible. Sharks couldn't clear the puck and it cost them.

That rule should NEVER go away. Teams used that delay tactic to relieve pressure in the 90's all the time. You'll always have the inadvertent penalty, but its a good rule.
