More I think about Sharks decision to sign Torres the more I'm developing black thoughts. Why would someone want to have a guy like that in their team??? Whats the purpose with signing him??? Black, black deeply black.

Plus they are playing very well right now.
One thing I have noticed is it seems like last year we use to roll four lines, where as this year it seems more like we ice the top 3 way more than the fourth. I wouldn't be surprised if we see more of a situation where we rely on the top two and use the 3/4 more sparingly.
 
I've changed my opinion on the hit. I said yesterday I thought it was clean according to the rules and I've changed my mind. The more I watch it the more I'm convinved he targeted the head deliberately.

Geez, hope Stollsy can get back to health quickly.

Better late than never. It is clear he is targeting the head.

I am thinking he gets 10 games this time around. Hopefully, 7 of those will be in the next season.

Yeah I actually re-read the rules in your post (I think it was yours) and watched it about 5 or 6 more times and it became clear. The more I watched it the angrier I got.
 
I'm expecting anywhere from 5-15, but nothing would surprise me. He gave another player a concussion after just getting 21 games off. The NHL will not be happy about that.

Yes it was mine.

I have been reading the Sharks thread on their board about the hit and I can't believe how delusional those fans are. If a player of mine did that to an opposing player I would be absolutely livid and want him off my team.

I guess its more important for many Shark fans to delude themselves and rationalize their players' dirty play, at any cost, to win a Cup.

I am hoping the more reasonable Sharks fans know its best that this guy never skates in another NHL team sweater again.

I wonder how they address him in hearings like this? If it's all delivered in a strict monotone or do they get angry and frustrated while doling out the punishment. They have to be tired of dealing with this clown's on ice antics.

I agree, I've read some of the comments and it's mind-boggling. But then again, when the coach and the captain of the team come out and say they don't even see a charging penalty there, I guess the fans are following their leaders.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Game two , Torres' hearing, and the possible lowering on the DUI threshold are all we should be worrying about right now.

Answer to why anyone would hire Torres.....Wings hired Tod Bertuzzi....shows some goons are still in demand.

Ditto on all points...especially on the issue of Stoll's health...

Bertuzzi actually has some good hands, and although past his prime still can serve a good third line role. Torres is an idiot.
 
The Kopitar line will have to chip in more on offense. Kopitar has been great in the defensive zone, but you hardly ever see him shooting the puck anymore. And on the power play he just stands in the corner and looks to pass. With Stoll out he needs to go to the net and score ugly goals.

Well i'm not young but as a NHL-fan i'm a baby. So Bertuzzi's sucker punch is the only thing I know about his history. But Torres his history is well known and he should never touch an ice surface again.

Big Bert was a top Power forward in the league. Think in between Lucic and Iggy. Torres will never and should never be mentioned in the same breath as those types of players.

Tuzzi should have been kicked out of the league, same as this Torres.
Tuzzi's infraction of causing another players hockey career should have been enough. If they let this Torres continue, same thing will happen.

That is one thing Richardson does. He's high energy, has some offensive flash and speed and works really hard. The problem is, he's not defensively sound and can make some poor decisions with the puck. Anyone would be hard pressed to match Stoll's work on face-offs, so we know there's a drop off there regardless.

I imagine that if the game is tight in the 3rd, you'll see one of our top centers out there taking defensive zone draws for the 3rd line.
