It's okay everyone. Aves destroyed the Wings in Game 5 back in '97. Wasn't over for the Wings then, it ain't over now.

We had a team of winners in '97. Not so sure now. Should add that I have drank way too much tonight and have transferred my abuse at the tV onto the computer.

Do people really not understand that the home team gets the last change before every faceoff?

It's been covered here on just about every page. There's nothing Babcock can do about it.

Of course I understand that but have you ever heard of changing on the fly to get the match up you want which is exactly what we did in game two? Please. Enough with the righteousness.

I'm so in the mood to come here like a Blackhawk fan and whine and ***** and moan about everything, but really one team showed up tonight; one team played like it was the playoffs the other sort of loafed about and floated. When it became 3-1 I was thinking at least start taking the body.... But nothing. More watching, more floating, more **** and fluff. Just a disgrace to what they have accomplished to come out and half-ass it like this. I'm extremely disappointed. Did not look as if we belonged in the same league as those guys tonight; when this team takes it's foot off the gas they don't mess around. Absolute crap. Get it together and take this series once and for all. All the **** Toews has been taking, but where the hell is Hank, Fil, Franzen and even Datsyuk tonight. Crap effort all around. Great killer instinct there boys.

Agreed. The Wings expected the Hawks to just lay down and die for them and they didn't. That was a crap effort by the Wings as a whole. Now, game 6 isn't a must win for the Wings, but it sure feels like it. The Hawks now have momentum in the series back on their side. I guess we will see how it goes on Monday night.

Did anyone else think that hit on Kronwall was dirty? Just curious. It looked like Bickell hit him from behind at an angle.

I'm not worried. We played real bad and deserved the loss, sure, but we're not led by Toews, people. We'll bounce back and win at home.

If not I will forcefeed K55 my boots.

Hawks played well and Wings just weren't prepared for this.

Hawks also out competed Wings. They won every battle every puck.

Also Wings gave up. Z failed a captain big time tonight

I can think of few things better than winning in front of our hometown crowd on Memorial day.

Also, a lot of you need to chipper up. It's not the end of the world.

Pavel Datsyuk where are you??????????? I am extremely disappointed with what I have seen fro the so-called "2nd best player in the NHL" so far this series. He really needs to get it going here. I dunno if the rumoured KHL contract is on his mind or what, but he just has not been the same recently. I watch every single Wings game closely, and pay extra attention to Datsyuk because he is my favorite player in the history of the NHL, and this series, to put it simply, he has not done enough. Tonight in my estimation was his worst game of the season, as I cannot recall 1 nice play he did tonight. He is the team MVP, and we absolutely need Pavel to do something, anything at all, if we hope to move on. Besides that one absolute snipe in game 3, he has been nowhere to be found.

He could have done better but really there was 0 support for him tonight

how many times was he the only red wings in hawks zone? just where the **** was Franzen? I haven't seen him since Anaheim series.

At first I was screaming at the set, wanted to see the replay so bad, thought Bickell had come in from the blue line. After seeing the replay it was a good hard hit in my opinion. Clean and nasty, something I wish our players would have done more. You'd think the team down by 3 would be hitting like that.
I'd love to scream foul but I have seen what whining d-bags the Hawks fans have looked like the past few days and am determined to not follow suit.

Ya Franzen hasnt done much either, but Franzen isnt "the 2nd best player in the NHL". Pavel is. This was not good enough. 1 point in 5 gaes in round 2 against the best team in the NHL?? We need Pavel to be at his best, and he hasnt been.

To set the record straight, I absolutely love Datsyuk. The guy is a pure legend, hall of famer, top 100 player in the history of hockey in my books. He just has not been good enough this series. Maybe I'm being too hard on him, but Detroit needs Pavel to be Pavel next game, or else things could get interesting in the series.

I am down at the bottom of that bottle with you tonight doc. Shameful display tonight.

Thankfully I'm inebriated enough to the point I don't really mind that much. I genuinely said to the Blackhawks fans next to me to "enjoy the win." Totally not what I would normally do.

It actually happens a lot before a team is finished off. I fully expect a big bounce bad win to close it out Monday.

I think the Wings were excited AND lazy tonight and let off the gas. This feels like the series against the Sharks a couple years ago. Helm scores an empty net goal to send it to 7. They played game 7 lazy with no effort it seemed after coming off an exciting win. I think this is the case after game 4 and taking a 3-1 lead.

No doubt we'll be better in game 6, but Chicago loves momentum and they have it atm.

Idk, I'm probably wrong, lol.

To be fair, some posters (and I wish I could recall who) have pointed out that our big guns have been as impotent as Toews this series; just haven't been shooting ourselves in the foot like Captain Intangibles has been. One win by Chicago turns that onto our stars in a big way. We can beat these guys, and we've proven that thus far, but we can't beat them with the likes of Miller and Nyquist leading the way. Hank, Dats, Mule. time to get it done on Monday. And Fil, you have a lot of balls asking for anywhere in the neighborhood of 5 million.

I'll take the panic button and hide it for the time being. No one's allowed to panic 'till the buzzer rings at the end of Game 6 and by some miracle the Hawks scored more goals than the Wings. We're fine. Put up the same kind of pathetic fight we did in game one... And we all know what happened after we put game one behind us.

You could maybe make a case for charging (took 5 strides from about 40 feet), but the hit itself is a good hard and clean.

55 has delivered plenty of punishment, and even if it was a charge, that was how you want your guy (if a Hawk) to react. A good hard hockey play, certainly not dirty. I would much rather see that then a fight.

Before anyone goes bonker again on forum policing again. display of disappointment and panicking is not the same.

This was a painful loss. I'm gonna say whatever the hell I want
