I think maybe Tocchet got out coached this game.
Certainly not challenging the one goal where Nyquist's leg rammed Silvos and the puck into the net could have been challenged. Especially as the Canucks have been dominating with the PK, one sure goal vs a possible extra PK. The only goal to that time that was shot in was in game one.
The ice time per player was odd, Garland got only 12 min all night, the icetimes almost look like simple rotation of lines with one exception of Lafferty and Hogland who both got less than 10 min.
Tocchet is setting up Boeser, Miller, Pettersson to be scape goat for not converting those 20+ min a game into goals, certainly can't blame Hoglander who has 8 min a game or even Garland who has barely above 10 min.
There is another old saying if ain't broke don't fix it, well there isn't a lot wrong but tweaking it a bit might be needed, maybe less icetime for some of those not making use of the icetime.
It is only one game and they still only need to play .500 hockey.
Silvos doesn't look out of position, meaning he looks like he can be there all the time, cool, confident, composed.
