Not invested at all really in these playoff's.

For some reason, I am just not feeling it this year.

If the Kings lose, really don't care. If they get another Cup (it won't match 2014/2012).

Just not feeling it.

We got great highlight videos for the Kings to watch from their runs. Interesting enough I watched the 30 for 30 premiere about the Orlando Magic and that team they assembled in the 90s that just never could get it all done in the NBA and as a sports fan, it put a lot into perspective with regards to the Kings. Eras for any sports team can be really short lived. Even the Chicago Bears ultimately only ever won one Super Bowl with that team in the 80s.

Just some interesting stuff I've been watching lately.

Think of how many not just good but nigh 'unstoppable' teams from this era we've just cut through like butter--the 2012 Canucks were supposed to be an upgrade on the 2011 cup finals team and our nemesis for years. The presidents trophy Blues. The Yotes that wrecked the Blackhawks. The Devils that Cinderella'ed but destroyed the East. The "Can Anyone Beat the Sharks? Sharks. The Blues again. The Sharks again but in epic, historic fashion. The Ducks that were supposedly the cup favorite. Finally, our real nemesis, the Blackhawks. And the icing on the cake was just steamrolling the fake King and the pretender Rangers who were better at every position ().

Every one of those teams was picked to win the Cup except maybe the Yotes and the Devils, the simply got to dash teams' hopes before we did. We were NEVER a favorite, we just prevailed, and wrecked so many teams similar to the teams you talk about it's really going to look amazing in retrospect.

Edit: To the extent that the other teams were ALWAYS the better team on paper, we just found a way to get it done--the first part is true so far this year, too; will the second be again? God, it would be hilarious to just keep rolling after all we've done

I'm hoping this team feels backed into a corner. They seem to play best when challenged, and right now they're playing like it's the regular season. They look like they're waiting to be challenged. I thought that losing the division would spark something but it didn't. They're going to need something to rally around. Right now San Jose is playing smart and not giving the Kings anything to give them a spark.

I thought the win over Anaheim would've sparked something. That lasted 35 minutes of the Jets game.

There's a thread on the HOH board right now about which team from NHL history has been the most like those magic teams. Most people are saying the Lindros Flyers match up pretty well.

As for tonight, I'm thinking 4-2 Kings, with the 4th going into an EN. Biggest game of the year, expecting to see some serious coaching adjustments regarding the breakout and zone entries. SJ historically has been a team that gets rattled by trends, and their record at home is garbage. Kopi can't sleep forever. GKG!

Yeah, it really doesn't feel like the playoffs this year. Maybe because my expectations are so low due to our D situation, maybe because of the way that they finished the season. I dunno, just not expecting much.
