Not sure who told you that, but I am playing tonight...
****, I guess the cat is out of the bag. I am indeed Anze Kopitar.
Dingo, when can I come get my 360? I can't believe I forgot it at your place.
What? Where did you hear that?
You can keep saying it, but it doesn't make it true.
Plenty has changed since the series started.
The Kings have gone from 4 chances to win a road game to 2 chances.
The perceived reletive strength of the Kings and the Hawks has also taken a huge swing.
Richard went from being healthy to being concussed.
That's a lot more than nothing.
Of course thinks have changes greatly.
Before the series, as you say, LA had to win all it's home games, and one win on the road.
But after being dominated by the Hawks in the first two games, and still assuimg that LA will win it's home games, LA needs to to win 1 of 2 away games, previously it was 1 in 4.
And after being dominated in the first two games, the chances of LA winning 3 out of 3 homes games took a serious hit too. Remember, the Hawks lost only 3 away games all year in 24 regular season games. It's not like they are putty on the road, like LA.
Before the series started, many we predicting the Kings to win. Not many are now.
The Hawks lost the first road game in the series against both the Wild and Wings-this is what I remember, that and the Hawks being about 20 minutes away from hitting the links for the summer. Hawks are up 2-0, I expect the series to be 2-1 after tonight. Take your stats and your butt hurt and go away. The Kings and its fans are like the Honey Badger; don't care, don't give a ****!
Adam Burish said the Los Angeles Kings look beat up against the Chicago Blackhawks, and he saw them "slowing down" during their tough seven-game series in the second round against Burish's San Jose Sharks.
"They had guys as our series went on you could tell they were slowing down," Burish, a former Blackhawk, said Tuesday on "The Carmen & Jurko Show" on ESPN Chicago 1000. "I give them credit, they were hanging in there. They were tough. But this is the playoffs, this is hard. And you've got to have some luck too. The Kings last year (when they won the Stanley Cup), they didn't have one guy injured the entire playoffs. To win you've got to have talent and you've got to have luck. And right now the Hawks look pretty darn good to me. They've got their full lineup going, they're healthy, they don't look too nicked up and they've got a lot of talent too."
"He's the best goalie (Quick) that I've seen all year," Burish said. "You've got to try and get bodies in front of him and not let him see it. The other thing is he comes out of the net so far. He comes really far out of the crease to challenge the shooter so when you're coming down on him and look you don't see anything because he's so far out at you. If you can maybe fake a shot and change the angle or pass it off his pads to another guy for a rebound or hit a guy back door. But if he sees it straight on it's tough to beat him."
Any news about what the lines are looking to be from the morning skate?
Live from Staples Center, here’s how Kings coach Darryl Sutter has put things together – and will probably keep them for tonight’s Game 3 vs. the Chicago Blackhawks…
FORWARDS
Dustin Brown – Anze Kopitar – Justin Williams
Dustin Penner – Jeff Carter – Tyler Toffoli
Dwight King – Jarret Stoll – Trevor Lewis
Kyle Clifford – Colin Fraser – Brad Richardson (and Jordan Nolan)
NOTE: Nolan remains an option, but appear to be game-time decision. Mike Richards isn’t skating.
DEFENSEMEN
Robyn Regehr – Drew Doughty
Rob Scuderi – Slava Voynov
Jake Muzzin – Matt Greene
I would have liked to see Sutter do something with the lines but I guess that becomes difficult with Richards out
So the lines are all still the same, Muzzin is back, and Richards isn't playing.
Great news
King needs to sit. Or he needs to drink deer blood before the game
Well, if we can shelter him at home, maybe Muzzin won't be so bad. I still think Martinez is far and away the better puck-mover, though, and looks slightly less stupid chasing around the Hawks' speed and skill.
We're just sort of out of options for lineup interjections, really. I'm not too upset that things are the same. Live by the sword, die by the sword.
I know it's not looking good for the Kings, but my god, I have NEVER seen a thread like the "pre-game talk" thread over on the Hawks board that read like winning was such a foregone conclusion.
