Schultz has been carrying that pairing , Slava is going to be bad with what ever partner. It just going to be that way till slava figures himself and his game out in the off-season.

it's this and Im surprised how little people see it. Voynov has been an absolute dumpster fire these playoffs, and putting schultz with him doesn't help anything, even though schultz has been serviceable.

Weird lines are weird, but we need to cut Voynov, or he needs to play better, I don't think Im crazy for saying the series is on his shoulders.

Mitchell-Doughty

Schultz-Martinez

Muzzin-Green

Some speed in each lines, there's some depth in skill and strength as well. We can also put Muzzin-Doughty for ozone starts, WM-DD for d zone starts, so that WM doesn't get too much top line time, because he cant go for nearly as long as DD.

Just a thought, but the Voynov situation needs to be solved.

There is no situation with Voynov. If there were, Sutter would have taken care of it already. Yeah, you can say he's having an off year, but no, he hasn't been as terrible as some of you guys make it out to be.

Hawks fans have every right to be dicks: we are to them what the Blues are to us.

They've won two Cups in four years and are something like 31-0 against the Kings the past few seasons.

If we were facing the Blues in this round, with home ice advantage, and just won a game that we got outplayed in...you bet your ass this board would be cocky.

Since when is being a dick acceptable??? Lot easier said than done I'm sure, but I'll take class over cockiness, any day.

Disagree. You can be a dick but you don't have a right to it. Show some class and respect. It's not that hard.

Agreed. There's such thing as being a sore winner. That's not endearing at all.

And there's cockiness and then there's dismissiveness. I don't mind cockiness as you guys are right, Blackhawks have our number. I do have a problem with being an outright dick, driveby troll comments with no substance (hawks in 5 easy lol, toews erased kopitar already see), or, the biggest one, a sense of we're better fans because our team is better and thus your view is unworthy/invalid.

Slava is having a down year so naturally every little thing he does will be magnified. He's still a kid playing in his first full NHL season. Don't get why everyone piles on so much.

Fans become dicks when they forget that there are two teams in every game. That's easy to do when your team wins a lot; look no further than Lakers fans, many of whom for years assumed that they could win whenever they wanted to and that any loss was because the players just didn't really want to win. If that's the case, you end up with little respect for the game itself, and none for your opponents. It seems like a lot of Chicago, Boston, Pittsburgh, and even Los Angeles fand are at this point.

Multiple posts and all of a sudden its a Richards thread again....dicks....

Man I crack myself up.

My point is that a large portion of the Kings contingent on this Board are dicks to other teams we dismiss, such as the Blues and the Coyotes.

My using of the phrase "have the right" should of been expanded to read "...if we are going to do the same to other fanbases".

Not every Hawks fan is a dick so a pretty wide net is being thrown at the moment, just like not all Kings fans are dicks to the Blues etc...

If you don't like it, don't read it. We look pathetic crying about it when we pretty much treat the Blues the same way (Praying since before the season started that they would take Chicago out of the playoffs because it's an automatic win for us if we play St. Louis) and even have the majority of our fanbase saying the Hawks will win the series.

If we were playing a team that we are, what, 10-2 against over the last 12 games and their fanbase was, for the most part, saying they would lose the series well...I think there would be a ton of smugness going on here and the main boards. Hell...there was a "Kings are a mini-dynasty" thread after Friday's win hahaha. One Cup and they are a mini dynasty.

I just think there is hypocrisy going with the whining. Best way to shut them up is for the Kings to shut them up and not us crying about how they are making us mad with their confidence. They "deserve" to be confident since they are the reigning champs and always beat us while "being a dick" to the opposing fanbase is an integral part of a message board: especially the main forum.

I'm not saying he should be traded or banned from LA or anything, he's definitely just having the sophomore slump we all thought he would have last season. I just think that he is a weak spot in our defense, and that weak spot should be alleviated a bit, either by cutting him or putting him with more reliable defensive partners than Schultz, who has been doing alright but both of their mistakes compounding leads to goals.

It's not going to matter what partner you put him with, unless that partner is Doughty.

Slava's job is to move the puck up ice, and he has been struggling with it all year.

all 5 of those guys deserve it :sarcasm:

you COULD do that, technically, thought Sutter would never do it, and it would put other Dmen off wing. But DD played left in the Olympics and did well. But that would be crazy haha.

DD-VV
WM-Muzzin
Martinez-Green/Schultz

You wouldn't move Drew over for Slava. Slava would simply retrieve the puck, and let Drew move it up ice.

Like Muzzin does.

the refs can't use the video to change the outcome, which they did.
That's not how it was explained. My understanding was that the video review was for something other than interference, and that the goal being disallowed was a result of referee discussion and not video review.

Edit: Sorry, I'm blind and missed that this was replied to already, lol

Because reasons.

This is seriously the biggest problem in the NHL today. Total lack of consistency. You can watch any game and see 10 examples of punches and all kinds of ******** after the whistle. Then suddenly, for no apparent reason, there's a love tap and a guy gets a call, or coincidental calls. Who can be sure? It's totally random.

I think part of the confusion stems from the fact that we as spectators aren't privy to the conversations the refs have with the players. It's likely that in that scenario the ref talked to the players and told them to knock it off and that the next guy to keep going after being told to stop is going to the box.

For instance, in my beer league playoffs this year (our last game, unfortunately) it was getting a bit more physical than normal in front of the nets. Before the 3rd period started, one of the refs went to both benches and told everyone that he's going to let us fight for position in front of the net, but to keep our sticks out of it and that he'll be watching for any cross checking. So, a cross check that didn't get called in the 1st or 2nd would be called in the 3rd, because guys were getting a little bit loose with their sticks and taking some whacks. To a spectator who didn't hear any of that, it would seem completely random that he was calling it now after letting it go all game.

Isn't that what the inside the glass guy is there for?
