Likewise.

Oilers have been the best team in the league since the coaching change in November. We are a better team than both the gutted Avalanche team, or the Vegas LTIR's.

Vancouver was better than both of them as well.
Pretty much exactly how Deboer sees it too. Noted the Avs and Vegas were up and down all year and had their struggles. Whereas Oilers were strong for 6months straight

yeah, no. Playoff hockey is different than regular season hockey. Vegas did the good old cheat job with their salary cap and assembled the team that kicked the Oilers ass quite easily.

Y'all depend on 2 players with a crappy goalie and bad defense. The Stars gonna run you up quite easily. Tanev will shut down your top offensive line as he did to Mackinnon.

You're delusional if you think the Oilers are a top team. You beat a crappy Kings team and a Canucks team that is inexperienced. Y'all getting cooked starting tomorrow night.

How educational. Did you learn all that from the TNT panel?

The underdog Oilers, most likeable team in the entire NHL, will shock the world and take out the Stars.
A team full of gutless floppers and a captain with serious character issues is not a likeable team to those who actually care about the sport. The Stars will expose these clowns as the frauds that they are.

That's the pic of Stuart Skinner when he meets the Stars

We ignore those up here.
Sure you do

Oilers fans remind me of when certain boxing fans think they're guy is gonna win. Kinda like how Spence fans felt versus Crawford before the fight. Or what Wilder fans felt before the Fury fight.

Feelings are nice. But everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.

Its funny when people act like NHL playoffs are predictable. :sarcasm:

I mean Vegas has the odds at around 55% for Dallas to win. This isn't a series with a huge underdog according to the guys that make a living setting the line.

Both teams had strong regular and underlying stats all regular season and have won two playoff rounds.

Sir, you are talking about the wrong sport. Take more lessons from TNT please.

Dom is heavy into analytics though. It's hard to compare when one team had to go through the last 2 Stanley Cup winners back to back while the other went through LA/Vancouver without Demko.

I don't see how the Oilers are the favourites with Dallas being the home team. It's not the Vancouver situation where Edmonton's odds jumped significantly because Demko was out for the series.
They are not the favorites, but it is certainly closer than what people here are saying.

The Oilers could win, and it wouldn't be a shock.

Who your favourite fighter?

Let me guess, Jake Paul.

I'm surprised more people are not talking about the minutes Dallas' 5 Dmen have played so far. It's not a great situation going into a series with the Oilers who are at the best when they are dumping the puck imo

A lot of people are saying Dallas is defensive and the Oilers offensive, but look at the stats, that's not necessarily true, as both teams are close to the top in both columns. This makes Dallas' massive advantage in net and even bigger deal imo.

The Oilers are hooped unless someone Tonya Harding's Oettinger, or Skinner can sustain .905+, making Oettinger's kneecap the Oiler's only hope ;)

Honestly a bit of a coin flip. Dallas in 6 is the obvious on paper pick, but I went Edmonton in 7. Especially if Hintz is out and continue to mostly play 5 D.

Seeing how Oilers raised their game to another level in G6 and 7 and absolutely dominated my Canucks by beating them at their own game- sticks in lanes, aggressive defence, out hit, out block, out battle 50/50 pucks etc was impressive.

They are a hungry team that are motivated and focused.

Stars win- overwhelm on forward depth and run Skinner, Oettinger plays on his head, or young core take their game to new heights and take over.

Oilers win- McDrai continue to do their thing and play a complete game as a unit with fundamentals.

Chris Tanev?

Last time they faced him in the playoffs, Draisaitl set an NHL record for most points with 17 points in a 5 game series.

Why would Tanev scare us?

Vancouver was a matchup nightmare for the Oilers. They've absolutely owned us this year With their playstyle and much better offensive talent than the Stars.

They were always going to be a tougher challenge for our team than the Avs without Kadri Nuke and Landeskog.

I think it just comes down ro whether you value stats or narratives more
I value the seeing eye test and actual hockey knowledge. The season doesn’t mean f*** all. After the first half of the season, the Canucks fell down to earth and weren’t really consider a threat to do much damage come playoffs. The Kings never had a chance come playoff time and were seeing as the easiest match up in the West as the playoffs approached.

Colorado and Vegas are on another level. It’s as simple as that and it’s an insult to those team to put the Kings and Canucks on the same sentence as them. The entire hockey world knows that aside from some of Oilers nation.

Everybody props Vegas up. Vegas was not on another level. There is 82 reasons that show that.

The reality is Edmonton was the better team this year (head2head, over 82 games, in Playoffs).

Vegas certainly improved at the deadline, but they were 4th in the Pacific for a reason, and an out of shape Stone didn't improve the team as much as people here believe.

The only arguments saying Vegas is better is purely speculative, because everything else points towards Edmonton.

Vegas winning the cup last year was just that. Last year.

Dallas is the favorite. But don't sleep on Edmonton due to bias, and use narratives to substitute facts.
