Since I don't get to see the games in Boston, I appreciate the play by play from you guys. Thanks much.Alfons said:It´s going to be a very interesting tournament. Canada, Czechs, Russia and Sweden seem to be favourites. I hope we will see some very good games in the playoff.

The defensive schemes put in by Habscheid/Renney are atrocious. Bobby Orr would have trouble looking good with what the D is being asked to do.Tricolore#20 said:The entire defense looked bad IMO. They weren't marking the Swedes very well, and looked progressively tired as the game moved on. I also agree that Souray wasn't very strong defensively. He seems to be getting lost on the big ice, which is a surprise considering he played for Frolunda this season.

Too many gaps between the D and the forwards coming back. No support on the puck.
You can really see the absence of Hitchcock and Martin from the coaching staff.

Disagree...94 was very good through the first half of the game...but in the 2nd half things were scrambled and unprecitable...thanx to a continuation of Canadas poor defensive play...I thought our Forwards had their best game so far...but our "D" hit a tournament low.Brule said:Along with most players on Team Canada, non-existant.
Riddarn said:We've got some more guys under 30 that are pretty decent. Like Marcus Nilson, Huselius and Ekman, a pretty decent line right there. But I like this team, not that many flashy players but they have character and smarts.
What I hope for next year is that some 19-21 year old kid takes the final step to the national team. It's about time..
Egil said:As for Sweden, they looked good 5 on 5, but their PP had a GLARING weekness at the left point with Backman(sp). So would Sweden consider putting Alfredsson on the point?
Maelmoor said:A great game, the goalies didn't get much help from the defense today, Boyle was the only d which did an allright game for Canada but I think the coaches looked quite stressed and worried..can't understand why they picked such an inexperienced coach...
