Team Canada DESERVED to lose. Pathetic pieces of crap on the ice, for the entire tournament.

And lets be honest, this is what should've been expected of them when the team was named. Too many grinders and "gritty" players. Who the hell sends Walker, Maltby, Fisher, Phillips, etc. to a tournament full of deadly players?

Secondary scoring was never available for Canada.

more posts about which fans are least classy etc bla bla bla, will result in warnings!
This thread is about the Game, and not the behaviour of posters at this board!

In that case I`m also rubbing it in.

Ryan Smyth is idiot and wish he share the ride to work in a carpool with Dany Heatley and Craig MacTavish.

Then don't forget Bertuzzi...Claude Lemieux...the list goes on...

That's a really classy comment :handclap:

Disregarding the last 15 seconds it was a great final and both teams played well and determined. Certainly worthy of a final.

bottom line is the czechs did everything right. canada had struggled early on in the tournament, if it wasn't the offense early on, it was the defense... tonight was a reversal of that. they wanted it more, so congratulations to them.

this was a good canadian team, on paper they should have won, but oh well. silver is still an accomplishment for an out-of-shape team. bring on Turin.

I have just lost every respect for Ryan Smyth. What a goon. :shakehead
Same here. It was totally unnecessary.

Sore losers... :(
Well some of them were, but not all of them. Smyth and Heatley were very unprofessional but there was many players who did do anything like that.

Anyway, well deserved victory for Team Czech Republic. They defended well and scored couple of goals. I was very surprised that Team Canada wasn't able to score. That just shows how disciplined the Czechs played. So congrats to Team Czech Republic and their fans. :handclap:

Healy: "Yagr is a special-needs player" :dunno:
Healy is a moron on the best of days.

I was really impressed with Spacek, Dvorak, and Rucinsky (who always comes up huge in international play) today.

The Czechs are a very solid team, and I am not suprised they took the gold.

This definately was a second-string type team for Canada. But proper coaching could have made all the difference.

Not true, on paper team Canada was the favorites of this tourney.
Selecting so many players that weren`t in game-shape may not have been so smart though..

Congrats to the Czechs they completely dominated the game. I have no clue what ryan smyth was doing at the end there I'm an oilers fan and he always plays with class but he sure wasn't showing it there

Thats right

Canada only should have dressed players, which actually played professional hockey this year.

Anybody else thinks in a similar way?

Actually I think both russians and swedes were stronger. Ok Russia beat the hell out of us but Swedes weren't really inspired to play for the bronze.

Interesting that both finalists (before the final) had their only loses in the tournament from the teams that played in bronze medal game, Canada from Sweden and Chech from Russia.

Yeah right, Regehr was left hanging TWICE on a two-on-one with jovo off wandering. Neither of those plays turned into goals. Regehr is getting a bum wrap.

Jovanovski wasn't there for his defense, like Regehr was. Both were terrible, let's leave it at that. This Canadian defence had a tough time without hockey and it showed. The only players who played good on Canada were Nash, Thorton and Gagne. Without these three, Canada wouldn't have made it to the semi finals.

Smyth has lost lots of respect for the 8 slashes he took out on the Czech player, he looked foolish out there. Czech's had an awesome tournament and it looks like Jagr is once again the best player in the world.

I've said it since the first day of the tournament...

but some players who played this year sucked too. like Souray, Heatley, Morrisson...

Well, atleast Thornton won MVP of tournament.

Good game Czechs, you deserved to win.
