Congratulations to the Czech Republic and their fans; the team played very well, and played as exactly that: a team. They played hard, they played aggressive, and they played to win. They supported each other and their goaltender, and they played like a championship team.

Others can complain about the refereeing all they like; fact of the matter is, Canada lost to the better team. Plain and simple.

Congrats once again to the Czechs and their fans.

This how it should be.props to you canucklehead

Uh huh. And all the Swedes and Finns and Russians around here rubbing it in is what exactly?
It was good game between 2 strongest teams on the tournament until your captain showed disrespect with classless act and played like cheap shot artist.

I turned off the TV and never saw the Smyth incident. What happened? I've never seen Smyth do anything overly dirty or classless before...

What he did was pretty classless, but it was good to watch.

lol

yea but we wouldn't start fights with 15 seconds left in the championship game. we have more class then that...you babies don't know how to take a loss.

Yes, rather than taking up your disagreements with other men, like men, you attacked inanimate objects furnished to you by the venue...

So, very classt... :biglaugh:

Actually I think both russians and swedes were stronger. Ok Russia beat the hell out of us but Swedes weren't really inspired to play for the bronze.

Now THAT right there is class.

Big congrats to the Czech Republic, the better team won today no questions asked. They seemed to neutralize Canada at every turn and were a step ahead of them.

Awesome job by Canada also in this tournament, I'm proud of the boys bringing home a silver. Some of them hadn't played competitively in a while so I think they did as well as we could have asked. All in all, it was great to see some top knotch competitive hockey again! Great tourney.

I think Canada was pretty tired in this one. They didn't have legs anymore and Czech had the game under control all the time.

Congrats to the Czech Republic on a well played game and tournament. Very well coached, and a well-executed gameplan.

CZECH ARE THE BEST !!!!!!!! YEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ryan Smyth is ass**** !!! What was he thought? And did he do ?? :shakehead

I think the americans are the classiest fans actually. They also had a very classy team.

I have just lost every respect for Ryan Smyth. What a goon.

:shakehead

Talk about over reacting. What Smyth did was stupid, but a goon!? I've seen much worse than what he did. You could tell he immediately regretted that in the box.

Congrats to the Czechs. They were by far the better team.

It's great to see Dvorak and Hemsky on top.

Decent game. The intensity level dropped a bit after the first period, you could clearly see that both czech and canadian players had too short time to rest, though the extra 4 hours compared to the swedes and russian made for at least some decent skating on and off, only few players had explosive skating or power to play really creative hockey.

As I mentioned, well deserved victory for the Czechs though, solid team effort.

I consider this a tier two tourney anyway. Nice job Czechs

Tier two? You don't get an awful lot better than what this tournament has to offer. So a couple of big names for Canada declined the invite to play; big deal. This tournament was still world class, top tier hockey.

Canada was lucky to be in the final anyway... they should've known that and be happy with the silver instead of getting all pissy and start that pathetic fight.

Amen...

With the team we had, worst would have been a disapointment, but the gold would have been a surprise...
