He's only hit 30 once. He isn't a 30 goal guy no matter how badly you want him to be, sorry.

98 goals in his past 257 games, good for 11th in the league. 31.2 goals per 82 games.

113 goals in 302 games over the past 4+ seasons, good for 12th in the league. 30.6 goals per 82 games.

141 goals in 384 games over the past 5+ seasons, good for 13th in the league. 30.1 goals per 82 games.

How far back do we need to go with the facts to overcome your absurd anti-Flyer bias?

Unless someone like Anaheim were willing to move one of their D men and a pick/prospect - a team with a surplus somewhere preparing for the expansion draft. It's hard to say what we would be looking for exactly because we have really good prospects in the pipeline at every position and they seem to be lining up well to come together in the NHL at the same time, and any move for current players would have to fit in with that. Our primary weaknesses at the moment IMO are 3C and RHD, maybe a LW with speed/scoring.

Maybe Anaheim but that's nothing to do with them being in the playoffs. They just have too many defense.

ITT: Guy who scored 30 goals isn't a 30 goal scorer.

Despite that, he's only hit 30 once. The FLyer's have a good one in Simmond's but I don't feel comfortable penciling him in for 30 every year.

Interesting, I still only see one number at or above 30. If someone scores 26, does that make them a 30 goal scorer because it's the closest 10?

Your interpretation doesn't align with the common understanding of the term so it's completely moot, especially when the player in question has paced 31+ over 82 in his time with Philly.

Have fun arguing semantics though.

If someone scores 30, does that make them a 30-goal scorer?

I guess it's comparable to winning an art Ross trophy. Just because you win it once does it make you an Art Ross winner?

He's averaged over 30 goals per 82 games since joining the Flyers. He's a 30 goal scorer no matter how badly that hurts the feelings of fans of teams who don't have a single player who scores that many goals.

Who's feelings are they?

The Devils had more players with 30 goals last year than the Flyers lol...but I digress

I'm hoping this is all some sort of William James thought experiment. What are we even arguing anymore? How do we know what truth is?

You digress straight into hypocrisy because according you scoring 30 goals once does not make a player a 30 goal scorer. Hall, Henrqiue and Pameri are all well behind Simmonds on any goal scoring list from the past five plus years.

Yes, but they are all capable of scoring that many, like Simmond's. None of them are players I would be comfortable penciling in for 30 in any given season.

Simmond's is a fine goal scorer and the best of the bunch you listed. Great plyer. Just shows how difficult it is to score today!

You had a few more Olympic divers too. ;)

It's certainly fair to view it in that manner, but you still fall outside common notions. It's pretty silly to argue that sort of a point when it's not something that people are overly concerned with.
