What's silly, but not surprising is that a thread involving a controversial Bruins play has gone on for over 300 posts. Had this play occurred in a Kings-Flames game, it wouldn't even get a thread.

that is probably true, but mostly becuase flames and kings fans don't have such inexplicably massive inferiority complexes

it happens so often the only examples posted are from 7 years ago and another play where the whole point of the video is to complain about the player closing his hand on the puck and tossing it forward. smh

gloving a puck and immediately dropping (aka opening your hand and allowing gravity to do its job which results in the puck dropping to the ice at the feet of the player.

What is illegal is gloving the puck and throwing it with force in a direction to gain an advantage.

Gravity to do its job?

Well ...this is up for debate.

And are you denying most of the time players dont advance the puck to their favorable position?

most of the time players drop the puck in a position where they can easily immediately gain possession in the most advantageous position. What players don't do is throw the puck with enough force for it to travel from blue line to blue line before they gain possession again.

It is clear you don't understand the difference.

Holy. I always whine and moan when players take this motion too far but this example is just too perfect. NO, YOU CAN'T DO THAT and every other play like that should be blown down aswell

unfortunately that doesn't happen, nor does it called all the time.

9 players out of 10 catch the puck and put it down where they can play it.

they don't 'drop it and let gravity do its job'

that's all that happened here, puck got caught, player put it down in front of him.

simple.

Again...this is up for a debate. In the refs eyes it was not a penalty

5 min ago a slash was a penalty. 5 min later as the games pace picksup , a similar slash is not a pentalty

Blame the refs not the Bruins fans.

Last nights comeback was the comeback of the year. Something like this wont taint the result

must have been very windy in the arena to cause the puck to land several feet away from where he dropped it straight down at his feet

Krejci just let gravity do it's job. The gravity of the Moon, that is, which inexplicably localized it's force in PNC arena and propelled the puck 20 feet forward from blue-line to blue-line. It's kind of like the ocean tides, crazy thing that Gravity.

The self-pass call is black and white, there is no "letting the boys play".

Of course we're blaming the refs, why would we blame fans for a non-call? And who is talking about tainting the result of anything?

It doesn't look good when people are talking about objective applications of the rulebook and you pipe in with "this won't taint our victory!".

Has one person said it has? Is this not a thread entirely dedicated to the refs?

You’re like talking to a wall. We’ve literally said it had no outcome on the game and that the refs blew it, and that this isn’t about the Bruins.

good point. It would have been absolutely ridiculous to penalize Boston for the forces of nature. I hope the league issues a formal apology to Bruins fans for this talk about how one of their players might have done something wrong

He didn't drop it straight at his feet, he dropped it forward. We discussed this earlier.

Off topic, I've been practicing free throws lately and I'm getting much better at dropping the ball up into the basket.

thats the problem here. He and fans like him are so concerned in protecting the integrity of their win that they won't admit an obvious missed call took place that helped them.

i've said it before. We need to investigate the Hurricanes for coating their pucks with Flubber. We also need to find out why they forced Robin Williams to fake his death so he could be imprisoned in a lab to provide them with said flubber.

I think he was in his own zone. So he can push the puck ahead. Seems like a good call. I have no idea what you guys are seeing.

Can he catch it? Yes
Is it ok if he gets rid of it right away? Yes
Can he gain advantage in the defending zone? Yes

Called to the letter no? I don’t like Boston so I am not defending them. I just don’t see the outrage.
