Another problem is that we use the same breakouts over and over. Utterly predictable. Up the wall. Up the wall. Touch pass in the neutral zone.

The defense is not good. The pairings aren’t good, and they get bogged down way too much in the offensive zone.

Honestly, is this basically the 2022 team? An average at best team with a goalie playing out of his f***ing mind? I legit feel like it would be wasting our time watching this team night in and night out. They're going to win as many cups as any one of us.

Need to play Jones. I also think the team is in a malaise. Most of them have been in deep playoff runs and it’s hard to get up for Ottawa in game 10 in November. They do enough to win. That’s all the effort they are willing to give right now
It's the redecorating on the margins part that gets on my wick. They know for certain what the issues are but they simply are not competent enough to fix them. This means the root issue is management and coaching, the secondary problem is the players. The Panthers were never this complacent about actual issues and they got their cup.
The thing I prided our team last year was that I can think of like one game the team got massively outshot and it was the second game against the Preds. I mean this team has Trocheck, not Strome, a better Laf, a better Panarin, and the Chytil line is great. And they still look obscenely bad. I'm legit embarrassed watching them play these last two games. Maybe the defense is just that bad because we have at least 3 good lines even with Mika not playing like a good player.
The only thing that gives me hope is Laf, Kakko, Chytil and Cuylle have all taken steps this year. Can they be the depth we need to put us over the top or are they literally just balancing the scales as our top 6 regresses?
Panarin hasn't regressed and did Mika really regress that much? He sucked last year. I think we went from 1 decent pairing, 1 bad pairing, and 1 average pairing to 1 great pairing and 2 awful pairings and the defense just looks worse. I have to think it's the lack of puck movers or something. I feel like in their own zone this game they were better but they never had the puck. And God knows our forwards even sans Mika's line are not so bad where they never have the puck. Trocheck line and Chytil line is better than most top 2 lines. It has to be the defensemen, right?

This team f***ing sucks. They need to do something about their d-zone coverage, every single game looks like we're watching the Florida series. Just running around endlessly in their own zone, no foot speed whatsoever to smother plays.
And allllll they f***ing do off the rush is back in. Back in, back in, back in and then Trouba on one knee trying to block a shot 6 feet in front of Igor.
It's f***ing infuriating to watch.
The worst part about their inability to play defense? Igor is going to get $15 million a year for this shit

It's a great place to see a game, and Sens fans have always been very kind when I have encountered them in attendance there. Congrats on getting a new building in a few years, too.
