Blais reminds me of Chris Higgins was here. No matter what he did, he couldn't catch a break. He leaves the Rangers and he goes back to being the player he was before. In both cases, I don't feel it was a coaching issue or even an effort issue with the player. For some reason, it just never clicked.

i remember higgins actually playing pretty well for us and just being snake bitten.

Blais was just not very good in his tenure. Now im sure the knee injury played a factor, but i dont really see the similarities.

RBigNose has choked the creativity out of them. Necas, Svech, Aho, Teravainen, Jarvis etc need to have fun out there and the puck on their stick, they are very skilled players. What's going on now is a travesty. Someone in the GDT said their style is a cheat code during the regular season and I agree - they can overwhelm weaker teams easily. But this won't fly in the playoffs.
Now you are going on about another teams coach? What the f*** is with you?
No, Rod hasn't choked anything out of this team other than having them consistently being one of the best teams in the NHL.

If this wasn't the most satisfying win of the season, it was certainly up there amongst the best this season.

Second game of a brutal back to back, 3rd in 4 nights, with the Canes coming off an extended break.

Coming from behind on the road should not be overlooked. There was a time in the 2nd period with the Canes leading, where all the play was in our own zone. To think we survived that, with Halak in net, adds to the absolute awesomeness of this win.

Panarin with his first 4 goal game. One to tied it up, one to put us ahead, and two more to pad the lead. Super clutch.

Gallant with his magic touch paying huge dividends.

Halak with 7 in a row has been outstanding.

Jimmy Vesey's boost of confidence was evident, moving up the depth chart. Kravtsov just can't stay in the lineup.

Trocheck's 3rd awesome game in a row with a combined, 5 pts, 10 hits, and 68% faceoff wins.

All this adds up to another fantastic win against the 2nd best team in the league.

For some reason Trocheck Panarin Vesey just clicked tonight. Their forecheck pressure was sublime. Panarin beat Andersen 4 times on his glove side.

Good win. For awhile I was thinking it was bad, but then I remembered it was the second of a back to back and the 3rd of a 3 in 4 with travel and all against playoff teams. Rangers hung in there through 2 and just were the calmer team in the 3rd. No pressure, just simple.

The Canes are very interesting to me. They are a fantastic team. Play hard. Hit. Little chippy. They play this almost 5 man forecheck that is very aggressive. However, if you can reverse, get the red line and dump it, because their whole team is so aggressive they have trouble coming back in their end. It's like they are equally susceptible to both the stretch game and a dump game cause they just don't know how to retrieve the puck in their zone. Now, granted, they may be up by 2 goals before you even get to their end for the first time, and that's another thing that you have to get through. They come out hard, so the first 5 minutes need to be managed.

They strike me as a team that takes itself very seriously. They are good, and they like other teams thinking they are good and giving them that respect. I think it frustrates them, especially once the 3rd period comes, that the Rangers are a team that really does not care about their opponent. Not that they don't take them seriously, but they really do just play their game and I think it gets in the Canes head. I can't explain it any other way but the last 2 to 3 years these teams just play the best games against each other.

If we were Canes fans, this game would have us in convulsions
I looked at their board (which is actually just like six or seven diehards). They’re not worried about the rangers. It was a ‘scheduled loss’ and the rangers are garbage. In fact the Devils are going to mop the floor with the rangers in the playoffs (if the rangers get that far).
