Speculation: Waiver Wire - Which player are you most concerned about losing?

Jets: Hutchinson if we decide to roll with Pavs and Hellebuyck

They won't do that for fear of losing him on the wire and having to expose Comrie or Hellebuyck next summer when Vegas drafts. You need to expose a goalie.

I think Pavelic and Hutch start the year and Helle will be waiting in the weeds for his opportunity. He'll get his money starting next year...

I thought so too but apparently, if Hutch gets picked up, we can sign any UFA goaltender and expose them. I thought we couldn't do that but our morning radio guys said that is an option.

Leafs - I wouldn't call it concern if we lose anyone right now, if Shannyco determines that they won't work out. That being said, the two high ends here most likely to hit waivers are Holland and Leivo.

If one or both hit waivers, teams are welcome to them and I won't bat an eye.

Canucks

Pedan - has lots of promise, but, still needs another season in the AHL.

Tryamkin - Won't technically lose him through waivers. Has a clause that he can opt to the KHL if sent down by Canucks.

Biega - great 7th D plays with a tenacity can skate and is good enough on both sides of the puck.

Granlund - Has shown he has some value and can get himself on the score sheet if he's not playing with anchors. Could be sent down to keep Rodin/Gaunce/Virtanen/PTO/Dorsett

It would suck losing any of them really. We've lost too many players for nothing.

Jared Coreau for Detroit.. I honestly thought he had a year left but everyone keeps saying he needs waivers.

Sharks: Tim Heed

top four potential, may need time to adjust to North American ice and our defense is very deep 1-through-7.

Islanders - Mayfield and Berube. Berube is a nice option to have but I don't see him passing waivers, and we need to keep two goalies on the roster this year. Stop reinventing the wheel.

I'd like to keep Siemens personally, still have some hope for a physical defensive defender out of him. Just a matter of if injuries ruin his chances like they did for Hishon or not.

If losing Duncan friggin Siemens is your biggest worry then Avs are fine in terms of waivers. I dont see a single NHL team that would claim Siemens to play him on their active NHL roster.

CBJ: If he's put on waivers, Gregory Campbell :sarcasm:

I don't think we're in danger of losing anyone....

I hope the Avs don't keep him just for that reason. It's been 5 years since he was drafted, that ship isn't even on the horizon anymore.
