There wasn't much hope in the stands but that was a great comeback. Goalies were the difference - Pavelec was huge, Rask misplayed the Kane goal. Great win.

Defensively the team was on fire. I was watching the Boston feed(which was ridiculous btw) and they were saying how this was a playoff pace, and I have to agree.

It seems that the team is listening to the coaches and figuring out ways to win against even the strongest opponents.

I'd like to see the PP stronger and to see the team stronger in the offensive zone. It seemed to me that they got stifled a lot by Boston's defensive play. they get the puck into the zone alright, especially after they stopped being cute and started to play real grinder/pissed off hockey, but its like they took way too long to set up.

I think this is a team that needs to be constantly driving the net, I don't think that relying on the point shot in the offensive zone is going to do this team any favors going forward.

My buddy that I share the seats with sends me a message "this is the worst game I've been to at the MTS Centre"

10 minutes later "disregard"

Heck of a win, just hung in there and got a break. Character win.

That's what good teams do. Sometimes you just have to hang in their and hope something goes your way.

Until Enstrom gets back, I'd love to see Olli down low, and Bogo and Buff at the point. Switch / swap out the LLW line + Kane with Jokinen, and that has to help the PP.

That said, Jets just scored only the 2nd PP goal the Bruins have let in on the road since the start of the season. :yo:

Just say no to Olli on the PP , just not effective at all.

I don't get the hate for Clitsome. Yes he was guilty of a huge mistake, but, he made some great break-ups on rushes, made some great outlet passes, assisted on Kane's goal, and made some excellent pinches. Buff, and to a slightly lesser degree Bogo, had some awful mistakes. Where's the hate for them?

Why is Clitsome always the scapegoat, even when he clearly had a decent game. Is it because you don't have Oduya to hate?

Clitsome has all the tools: skates well, has a very good outlet pass (most of the time), hits, and has a hard shot - I think it's his mental breakdowns that people have a real problem with. If he'd limit those, things would be different.

I knew Wheels was going to put one in tonight. He was busting it tonight.

Yep, Pavs kept us in this one. That's what elite goalies do. Boston is a great team and they put the clamps on after they got the lead. But the Jets managed to break through. Gritty gritty win. Buff looked bad...in fact a couple times early in the third I though he had given up the way he was just whiffing the puck around. It was obvious the team was getting very frustrated trying to get anything going...

Man the phone booth was loud tonight. It was ridiculous.

That is one thing I'm going to miss about moving west...playing the bruins. they are always good games. Just so much fun to watch night in and night out.

Don't think many people hate him at all. He's a decent enough #6/7 defenseman. But he just does not have the hockey sense or puck protection skills to be in the top 4. He should not be playing 20+ minutes a night.

People do hate on both Buff and Bogo. Plenty of people were talking about their mistakes. In fact moreso than Clitsome really. I think you are looking for people "hating" of Clitsome.

We just need a more reliable option to move into that role. Clitsome cannot handle having to cover for Buff's gaffe's particularly right now when Buff has been struggling immensely over the past few games. Clitsome needs to be put into a role more to his strength's, ie a 3rd pairing/extra D where he is not facing tough matchups and he can use his skating and hitting more effectively.

Good points. For all of Boston's talk of being tough, it's their defense that makes them strong. Their real toughness is in their zone, where Chara, Seidenberg, etc will smother you unless you crowd the net and keep pounding away.

Some teams have incredibly dangerous 1st lines - anyone feel that we have the peskiest 1st line? Buzzz buzz buzz. Love LLW.

I saw something interesting the other day. Apparently we have the eighth most effective top line at even strength, points wise. Its like...we have a legit top line...or something?

I agree, he does things well for the most part , again considering he is a bottom pair D , but he is making too many unforced errors , mental and physical . If he reduces the amount he has pretty decent value imo. Hopefully as he builds with Huddy we see results.

WHAT JUST HAPPENED :D

My god, that was an exciting third period. I had to step out during the first intermission and missed Marchand's goal but god damn those were two nice goals. Maybe someday we'll even see a Jet score more than 2 in a game :sarcasm:

Either way, nice ****ing start to the homestand. :handclap: I don't know how many people thought coming out of this with 2 points in regulation was going to be possible after the 2nd, but I was definitely having my doubts. Congrats to this team for proving me wrong again and surprising the hell out of the Bruins.

WOOOO haha my mood skyrocketed as the period went on I'm just unreasonably happy right now :D

I agree Clitsome had a pretty good game. Buff was a bit subpar, but he has so much talent. Other than a being unlucky on a bad bounce Bogo played the type of game that you build teams around. The guy is a beast in both ends.

Clitsome was noticeable from a negative point of view. Too many turnovers. His game was summed up with an assist and then a penalty soon after. He's the weak link when Enstrom comes back.

Buff had some glaring turnovers too but Clitsome can't afford to make those with his position within the team.

Just watched the replay on the Kane goal and the ref could have blown the whistle there as there was no sight of the puck for a split second, instead Rask puts it on a tee for Kane.

I dont know about you HC, but all things considered, Clitsome has done pretty well slotting in next to Buff. It obviously is not ideal, but I'm not going to complain too much about it. He's not a guy that you want to keep there...at all...but he's definitely stepped up I think.

He's definitely like Mark Stuart...although dare I say...more offensively gifted? Its almost like he has a better all around game then Mark does.

speaking of Mark..god that man was a beast tonight! Jesus he looked dangerous!

Is it just me, or has Buff looked...off for the last few games. Almost like he's hurt or something?

No ways! They'd be a 3rd line on a top team, no? Wait: we're in 3rd in the East? Does that mean our third line is our first? I'm having an inception moment.
