No. It's a pretty common name. Chicago's prospect Samuel Savoie is from the same city as Nicolas and they're not related.
I didn't realize that Savoie was a common name up that way! Thanks for the info!!

EP is pretty good at listing family members and they do not have a link between the two of them. Nicolas is from NB and Charles is from Quebec. So, it makes sense that they are not related.
One thing I'm going to miss watching the Remparts is James Malatesta moving on to Cleveland.
VK83 scores the shootout winner.
Quebec beats Val-d'Or, 3-2.
Our young man was the Remparts' fifth (and final) shootout participant.
Thank you for the consistent updates! Its really appreciatedHe played great but he should get better and better in the next few weeks. He had not played in a while. He missed the Sabres and the Remparts camps. He didn't play last summer in the Sabres' development camp due to his season finishing late so his last game was probably the Memorial Cup on June 4th.
Vsevolod Komarov, a Russian like no other
Vsevolod Komarov only has two games under his belt in 2023-24 and the impact of his return has already been felt with the Quebec Remparts. Having coached several Russians in his life, head coach Éric Veilleux is well placed to talk about it, his number 83 is really not like the others!
“There’s no laziness in his game, that’s all I can say!" confesses the head coach when asked if Komarov stands out from the other Russian players he has managed in his career.
“That’s the difference with the others,” he adds, laughing. I had a few for whom it was quite different!"
A remarkable return
The presence of the Buffalo Sabres prospect did not go unnoticed this weekend during the doubleheader against the Val-d’Or Foreurs. Fluid exits from the zone, perfect passes to his teammates, reactions after the whistle, the native of Chelyabinsk made his presence felt on his return.
“He makes others better, said Veilleux excitedly. He has gained confidence offensively and I like his style. He often went to the defense of his teammates on the weekend."
“No matter who it was, when there was a Rempart in trouble, he was there and I have no problem with that!" — Éric Veilleux
A sincere friendship
Goaltender Quentin Miller is well placed to talk about him, he who shares a great friendship with the Russian. The author of 52 saves this weekend appreciates the competitive spirit of Komarov on his side.
“He has the mentality that off the ice, we can be friends, but on the ice, it’s war! smiles the prospect of the Montreal Canadiens. He doesn't care who is on the other side, he protects his team. It’s a good thing, but you still have to be careful!"
Hockey fanatic...and shopping fan!
The two spend a lot of time together before and after games. Komarov, Miller, Andrew Gweon and Vincent Murray form a core of veterans who share meals and shopping sessions – the masked man from the Remparts indicates that he advises Komarov on his clothing style – on days off.
As soon as he steps on the ice, everything else becomes secondary. “He’s an excellent defender, I love him as a person, but as a hockey player, he’s solid, he’s intelligent,” adds Quentin Miller.
“It’s just incredible to see how well he’s able to see plays, to stop the opponent’s plays. Even in practices, we see how he is on another level." — Quentin Miller
The best of the QMJHL
The entire team, including the goalie, benefits from the presence of the Sabres' 5th round pick in 2022, who has greatly improved his English and assimilated French words, especially the bad ones...
“It makes my game simpler, recognizes the starting netminder of the Remparts. He doesn't make a lot of turnovers, he is able to stop two-on-ones, that gives the team confidence. It's really very useful. As Simon [Gagné, the general manager] said, he is going to be the best defender in the League. He really took a step up."
In the immediate future, Éric Veilleux can appreciate his play, but in the weeks leading up to January 6, 2024, the QMJHL trade deadline, it will be the turn of the general manager, Simon Gagné!
I think we'll see scoring in the 50s maybe even 60s this season from Komarov and increased mobility. Such a great grab in the 5th round.
I understand your concern. But as a Sabres fan it’s not common to read about a prospect being too aggressive. I have to admit I smiled reading it.He got kicked out of the game today after 4 minutes for a hit to the head. I thought the call was harsh. It was a penalty but I don't think it was a major. I don't think that's an automatic suspension but we'll see.
Overall, not a good week for him though. He's playing too agressive and he already have 19 penalty minutes in 4 games and 4 minutes. The team needs his 30 minutes on the ice, not in the box!

Not a language issue. Is it because of the language? I'm french canadian so maybe sometimes I'm not 100% accurate with words.
What I meant is that he's taking way too much penalties so far for illegal hits or high sticking.
I know he was injured in September but would you say he cane into camp stronger or just having something to prove? Why is he so angry?Obviously, most of this stuff won't look as bad in the NHL. In junior hockey, he's a man among boys.

P.S. I love it too
Another one
Any chance you guys would trade your announcer for Dan Dunleavy? I don’t speak French but that guy is really enthusiastic. I was pumped just listening to his excitement.
