Player Discussion Vladimir Tarasenko

He's known as a Russian sniper to fans who don't watch him every game, but from watching him, its clear he's so much more than that. Had no idea how tenacious and communicative he is. He's like a bulldog out there, constantly battling.

Yes, pls re-sign.

He has been sending messages to PIT the last 2 games. I loved when he blasted Pettersson after the crosscheck on Chytil Sunday and he crunched Crosby into the boards late yesterday. Vladdy smells Cup #2

Quickly becoming the easiest guy on the team to root for. Great effort, constantly talking on the sidelines to try and improve, etc.
I dont remember seeing a deadline acquisition chatting it up on the bench as much as Tank does.

We see it every game and its obviously paying off.

What a great thing. His game is re-energized.

All I know is that he absolutely planted Crosby on his ass last night. Not the easiest thing in the world to do.

He's been exactly what this team was missing. You see how competitive he is. He was tentative at first, but now he seems to have really settled in and just letting things happen.

That diving defensive play is what sets him apart from other guys that are 30+ goal players.

It was rough those first few games, in spite of scoring on his first shot. He now looks like he is locked in and getting better with each game that goes by. Now it's about finding out why that line is being hemmed in their own zone. That line with Miller (this is something that needs to be addressed too) and Trouba on the ice was brutal.

He's going to score a very big goal for this team in the playoffs though.

Watch out, if the cap jumps by $4m this off-season, it's possible that Chytil and Miller take bridge deals (as they may not want long term deals right now) and Drury fits both Tarasenko and Kane back under contracts.
If I had to pick one (right now) it would be Tank.

But i might change my mind after the postseason.

All in all if the cap does jump - one of those two should should try to be retained. I would even take a stab at Mikkola if they believe Roberston isnt there yet and the price/term is right. But that might not be needed.

Regardless - If you can roll with this type of forward depth into the next couple of years the window stays wide open

I can't wait to see this bull in the playoffs. He's going to be huge for us.I try to resign this guy if the money is right

Tarasenko is one of those players that doesn't look big, but plays big. He is strong and solid. A lot of defenders think they can bump him around, but he's just stronger than them.

His snipe on the 3 on 1 was perfect. If there was some way they could afford him, I think he'd be perfect for another year.

Maybe he'll take a pay cut to be on the team with Panarin since they are good friends.

We can hand out LaBanc deals.

I like the way this dude plays. Looks settled in now. The 3 on 1 goal was such a welcome sight to see a guy just rip the puck without even the thought of the royal road. Would be nice if we got that cap raise so we could keep him

He and Kane are not afraid to rip it. VTar’s goal on that 3 on 1 would have been a forced pass back through the defender trying for an easy tap in by so many others on this team. Instead, once he passed the puck to Mika he turned to a shooting position which told Mika give me the effing puck to rip it. Yes, it took a perfect bomb post and in to find twine, but even if it didn’t go in, it’s a better option than a turnover.

I really hope so.

He's a beaut...seriously.

Low key, he is open on a ton of plays where he doesn't end up involved in the offense. If those two can start finding him even more than they already have, look out.
I really hope they can keep him since they'll need a top RW next season and that line has shown great chemistry in the time they've been together.

Unfortunately I don’t foresee any way they keep him OR Kane so really hope they go all out this post season. Boston is the only truly elite team in the East this year - with so many young teams on the rise our prospects will only get dimmer in the years ahead So need to make the most out of our opportunity

I think they’re going to keep both.

We should be able to keep one of them. I don't believe in another team friendly deal here.

I'd keep Tarasenko though, no knock on patty Kane

They will sign at least 1 of them. This team is also the 7th youngest team in the league. Their window is wide open for the next 3 years.
