Seems like Kravtsov knew what was expected of him, but was confused on how to accomplish it. Miscommunication. Mixed messages at every turn.

The front office did NOT put Kravtsov in an ideal place to succeed. You think they'd have a system in place to openly communicate with Kravtsov, perhaps employ a Russian coach or translator to hold his hand through the initial process, convey exactly what the coaches want, answer his questions, etc. Christ, the kid is only 19.
Complete incompetence.

I didn't really see anything bad in there. He's probably disappointed, but I think everyone is to a degree.

I listened to the interview and then read it to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Completely agree, it’s absolutely benign.

His interview doesn't read the way that it is portrayed in those tweets. And whoever interviewed him (Eronko?) sounds like a proper jackass, just trying to stir up ****.

He clearly wasn't ready for the NHL. Give it a year or two, and come back.

That guy Shevchenko is KNOWN for about a decade or so already as a jackass for trying to stir things up out of nothing.

If anything, a low heart rate at full exertion speaks more for how well conditioned Vitali is.

If he was ahead of the guys yes, but he’s not able to keep up so it’s not it. I want to see how it looks when he goes at full “exertion” for 15 - 20 sec ignoring full shift.

Is not all on Quinn at all - Kravtsov sent back to Russia, there are guys who are not ready for NHL pace like Kakko it`s obvious.
And Panarin now just steal us points for a good draft position next summer so unfortunate timing since the whole team is not ready to compete. And that much is obvious like the garbage Wilds team which should start a rebuild years ago!

Sounds like he’ll be back. Don’t know if it’s just something that was just lost in translation but if they were really looking at his “BPM” and drawing conclusions from that that’s just asinine.

With that said, if he was playing poorly and is not ready for the NA game/didn’t gel with the coach in Hartford that is fine and not the biggest deal. He’s 19. He himself said that he has no one but himself to blame. 20 minutes in the KHL will do more for his development that 5 minutes and the occasional scratching in the AHL.

It's not an overeaction to say that this is a dissapointment.

Most of us had Krav on the NHL team, but he struggled in the AHL.

I don't care if he's 19. It doesn't mean he won't be a good player, but it is a negative that this happened.

Just like it's a negative that Chytil didn't make the team, just like its a negative that Anderson is a 4th liner 2 years after being drafted in the first round. Just like its a negative that Kakko has 2 points in his first 8 games.

We wanted more than we've gotten so far. That's a fact.

I feel like this is the main problem

Yes our scouting staff need an upgrade - I felt that Gordie Clark has played out his role in NY. So it`s normal reaction to be a little dissapointed with how part of development is going so far in October 2019 with a new 2019-2020 season.

We don't even know if Kravtsov struggled. He didn't play. I expected him to be in the NHL. Most rookies aren't really ready. Is Kakko totally ready? Dahlin was not ready last year. Svechnikov was not ready. Jack Hughes, for all his immense talent, isn't really ready. Just play the kid. He'll figure it out.

We just had a summer where everything was going right, which didn't help in that regard. This is probably the first real "bump" in the rebuild.

The battle against our own highest hopes, and the timelines we arbitrarily assign to those hopes, is going to be a serious challenge.

We all know there are going to be bumps in the road. But the gap between “knowing” and “handling” can be pretty wide.

In reality our board is no different than any social situation in life. Something “happens” and some people remain calm, while others freak out or lash out. A board just keeps it visible for longer and can make it harder to move forward.
