This whole thing is a mess and getting worse with each passing day. At this point i wouldn't be shocked to see him traded at some point and never play a game in our uniform.

Nah, its terrible. For example they have nothing to for any of our 2nd round picks in 2010-2015. They used those picks to draft Thomas, Nieves, Halverson and Gropp.

Players we passed on with those picks: Klingberg, Gostisbehere, Gallagher, Murray, Parayko, Slavin, Anderson, Hellebuyck, Athanasiou, Point, Arvidsson.

If that's not a terrible track record then I dont know what is
Nah, still not terrible considering context. You happen to choose a time frame of very few picks and the best drafting teams also passed on those guys you mentioned. Guys like Miller, Kreider, Skjei are decent nhlers for where they went yet all seemed like odd picks at the time. I have a problem with some of their drafting, no doubt, have a bigger problem with their record of development.

Kreider, Miller and Skjei, exactly. I have serious doubts this franchise has what it takes to draft and develop high end franchise talent, specifically a center, the most important position in the sport, and if things end up going sideways with either Andersson or Kravstov (or both), that should be the last straw for Gordie Clark and this franchise needs a total overhaul of their drafting personnel and strategy.

I didn't really see anything bad in there. He's probably disappointed, but I think everyone is to a degree.

Yet another Russian who probably won’t pan out. Just stick to North Americans and Scandinavians at this point. Haven’t seen many young stars from Czech Rep or Slovakia for a long time.

His interview doesn't read the way that it is portrayed in those tweets. And whoever interviewed him (Eronko?) sounds like a proper jackass, just trying to stir up shit.

He clearly wasn't ready for the NHL. Give it a year or two, and come back.

I am personally shocked that these kids need time to mature and develop. How dare they not come fully formed and ready to play like vets.

I know when I was in kid my late teens and early twenties I was very patient and willing to wait my turn.

Rebuild? Pffft... why aren’t these kids dominating already? I mean potential = immediate results. Amirite?

Seriously though, that’s why a deep pool is needed.

My wife translated the article for me, but doesn't have time write it down. The interview is not bitter. Kravtsov seems majorly puzzled by what happened - and blames himself. Russians in general take things at face value, and don't realize that some stuff... well it's just standard bs. He thought he was doing well based on feedback, and felt like a major failure when he didn't make the team. Who knows what happened in Hartford. He seemed extremely anxious to get back home, and basically crushed. His sarcasm applied to his decisions to come over ("look how well that worked out" type of thing), not to the Rangers. Dismissed all money talk, and said he had to start over to prove himself. Honestly, he seems like an upstanding kid.

I doubt we'll ever see him in Rangers uniform again. My personal feeling is that he felt misled by the Rangers management.

If the Rangers recall him, he'll be back.

This just confirms some of my suspicion about hit maturity level. Which again, isn't a knock against a 19-year old.

This situation isn't over unless NYR make a mistake and trade the kid early at low value.

He didn't burn an elc year to my knowledge. Either bring him back late in the season where there are open NHL slots, or start the drill again next fall

Too much overreaction

You can cherry pick McAvoy and Pastrnak from drafts we didn’t even have picks in, the guys I mention were picked in ranges where we got actual nhl players and now actually look like good picks on their own. But yes Clark has now had plenty of recent high picks, it’s definitely his ass if these picks end up not working out.

He burned a year, but still having him under contact is better than the alternative.

So he's just going to sit out the next two years of a contract and hold a grudge against the org?

JD loves him and Bobrov who will eventually replace Clark sooner rather than later can iron this out.

They were so terrible between 04-11 that a lot of those homegrown players helped win two Divisions, one President's Trophy, had one trip to the SCF that they could have easily won in 5 games if they had some OT luck and two other trips to the ECF.

Nah. He'll ask for a trade if anything. I dunno, I like him. Hope he comes back. But I won't hold my breath. I honestly think this was mishandled and quiet badly.

And yet the failure of being the only team to not come away with an elite talent in the 2003 draft came back to haunt us during that run.

Imagine a prime Mike Richards leading that 2012 team that already was very hard to play against and outworked their opponent every night? We would have been unstoppable.

Imagine a prime 43 goal scoring Corey Perry on that 2014 team? He surely would have put us over the hump against LA unlike lame ass unclutch Rick Nash.

Or a Selke Patrice Bergeron leading us into Game 7 of the ECF against Tampa?

Those mistakes could easily come around to haunt us a second time. See my point?
