Yeah, I dunno. The second clip is good. The rest of it just looks like pretty standard breakouts that generated relatively non dangerous perimeter shots. This looks just looks like things that happen in any given game to me - nothing really standing out.
I think you mean "pretty standard breakouts" but with speed that backs up defenders that allows his team to possess through the neutral zone and enter the zone with possession. He and Chytil are both very good at using their speed in a way that positively influences zone entries and retaining control once they enter the zone instead of chipping/chasing. The best teams can do both.
As for creating dangerous shots... well, i think you may have a point in terms of creating better chances off the rush. VK has the vision to be a playmaker, but the way he attacks with his speed often means he's far ahead of his fellow wingers. Certainly at these lower levels. I think he will need some work on what to do with the puck when he enters the zone with little support, how can he buy time for re-inforcements. Because, yes, if he sticks to a more perimeter style his game could end up resembling someone like Scott Gomez.
That said, between the end of his season in HFD and these highlights we can see VK becomng more assertive physically. He's going to some of those dirty areas and actually winning battles. Thats not an easy thing for these under 23 year olds to do consistently. VK is 6'3" and if fills out a bit more or just keeps developing his core and base strength he will be able to win these battles in the NHL as well without getting worn down. It's just a matter of being patient. And at 6'3" he's already more imposing than S. Gomez who really had to motor around traffic because he wasn't hugely effective in the dirty areas. In the long run VK should become what Scott Gomez was supposed to be but at 5'11" never was.
I would like to see VK work on his shot while at top speed. I think he gets much more on his shot from a set position than off the rush and I think he'll need to work on that to keep defenders and goalies more honest.
Finally, after watching highlights of Laf using his speed and fearlessness to get to the high scoring areas and knowing how Chytil likes to skate, attack the zone. I would love to one day see a line of VK, Chytil and Laf. That combo of size, speed and puck skills could be off-the-charts.
