Kravtsov is playing well, doing all the little things to keep himself in the lineup.

But I would hardly say he is “dominating” or playing significantly better than Laf/Kakko.
He’s dominating all the analytics and playing really aggressive. He’s been voted in the 3 stars like every game so far on here

I think the one thing we can all agree on is playing him on the 4th line is dumb.

flip him with Kreider until Kreider gives you a reason to move him back up. None of this trusty vet seniority Bull shit should fly. If you’re trying to make a run, your best players should play. Kravtsov has been eleventy billion times better than Kreider.

Quinn is a coward.

Is anyone really surprised Kreider went straight back to the Zibanejad line for today's game?

Having Kreider sucks man. Like we didn't know when we signed him wed have Laf but we just simply have too many wingers at this point and in the near future

Speaking of the 2018 draft there are some seriously good players that came out of the first round. 1. Dahlin is being wasted in Buffalo. 2. Svechnikov is already a hell of a power forward. 3. Kotkaniemi has had some ups and downs but he’s a legit NHL player. 4. I love Brady Tkachuk and his brother. 7. Quinn Hughes is a hell of a defenseman. 15. Joel Farabee. 17. Ty Smith.

It looks to me like the Rangers hit paydirt with all of 9. Kravtsov 22. K’Andre Miller and 28. Nils Lundkvist. That could be three outstanding players and when you think about the Kakko draft in 2019 and the Lafreniere draft in 2020 and if Schneider turns out and combine that with the Fox trade and the free agent signing of Panarin I can’t help but give Gorton and Drury and the Rangers amateur and pro scouting staffs an A+++ for the last 3 years.

When it actually came to the Rangers pick in 2018–the players yet to be chosen it was three guys for me. If we went forward it was 1. Kravtsov 2. Wahlstrom and if we went D I wanted Noah Dobson. The islanders took both Dobson and Wahlstrom and I think they’re going to be really good players too. The sleeper really was Farabee though and you might make a case for K’Andre. Nils Lundkvist when he joins us though might turn out the best.

You're also forgetting steals in Jones, Robertson, and Barron. The scouting department has definitely done well the last couple of drafts.

we can go on and on. I really liked the Cuylle and Berard picks from the last draft as well. These guys probably won’t turn into top 6 forwards but they’re all about grit and hustle.

Who was calling Kravtsov Andersson 2.0? I’ve seen a few people popping into this thread over the last couple of years to question whether or not some of his KHL goals would translate to the NHL (not me), but I haven’t really noticed much negative sentiment about him.

Why can't we just be happy about our three top-10 picks playing the way they are?

OMG? Is there a change in HF NYRB?

And just like that right away...

Not one bit.

and that’s one of my biggest complaints with Quinn. This kind of shit doesn’t help Kreider or the team.

Shit’s back on...

A. I think only the Rangers had Kravtsov in top-10.

B. But there’ll always be those to ignore these wins (and picking Chytil out of nowhere in 2017), just to bitch about Andersson’s pick.

Some talk about him cruising in the past and on how he has come a long way — which is true.

But to give the complete picture, he is now getting back to the things he could do and did in the KHL as a 17 y/o. But then he went on a growth spurt form like 6’1.5 to 6’4 or whatever and it just cost him a lot of explosiveness and speed.

Remember that D-1 his got used in all situation 5 on 5 and was definitely a positive factor to put on the ice in the KHL when his team needed a solid shift. Maybe not so much in terms of defensive assignments, but because he was very strong at driving pucks up ice and working the forecheck.

Physically he has definitely been into some catching up stuff. It’s not unusual for athletes, you grow in spurts. During the season growth is held back and then the body makes up for it during the summer when you rest more. But in Kravy’s case it was fairly extreme.

It’s going to be exciting to follow and see if he can take a turn towards someone like Mikko Rantanen when he grows into that body.

Just want to get in here and say he looks like magic out there.

But he will need to play with better line mates to score some goals... also hope he doesn't get the internal memo telling him to mail it in every game that most veteran players on the team got.

I wouldn't mind Kravtsov on the 4th line (for the time being) if Quinn wasn't dressing Howden. A Gauthier-Rooney-Kravtsov line would be an effective 4th line that could generate offense. The obsession of the coaching staff with Howden is a real head scratcher.
I’d like to see him out there over Howden too, but I’m sure it’s just Quinn going with the guy who PKs and can play center for his 12th forward. Which while I can grumble about it, makes sense.

That said, I really would like to see this team with Kravtsov and Gauthier both in. They’re already big, but that lineup would be huge.

Fully sharing the sentiment.

Would I like to see Gauthier over Howden? Yes (and A LOT more than I ever wanted to see Andersson over Howden)

Do I understand why Quinn put Howden in the lineup over Gauthier because of the bolded? Yes there too.

Technically he is playing on all 4 lines ;)

It seems like this team is trying to do the late 90s/early 00s Detroit approach to their kids and not just throw them to the fire. Didnt Datsyuk and Zetterburg play on the 4th line for while? 4th line time wouldn't be so terrible if every pass he makes to Howden just kills the play. At least give the kid Goat to pass to.

But in all seriousness, get this kid some PP1 practice time on the right.
