Chytil is a big boy but still he's only 21. In a couple of years he will go through the same transformation that Buchnevich went through but for now he will just have to stay with the process. Still he's just fine in the way he moves sideways with his body protecting the puck from a defender.
And I love the kid. But they does not change the fact that I do not believe that an all-skill top 9 is the way to go or has any chance of success in a deep playoff run

I honestly don’t know what you’re arguing. You’re insisting on keeping Buchnevich despite his replacements knocking on the door. Well, this is what the lineup looks like when they all here.

I feel like, every single game, Chytil, Lafreniere, and Kakko each have a play or two that could be a goal. None of them have broken through, really. But they’re flashing for sure.

the best thing for Rangers and Kravtsov is to let him get top 6 minutes and if he looks out of place then adjust accordingly. he is coming from a men's pro league and had a good year in the KHL and playoffs. ride his momentum would be the smart thing to do for him long term in my opinion.

Nah, he has to earn it first.

5 minutes a game with Howden and Lemieux to show what he can do offensively. As long as he dumps the puck every time he reaches the red line, he should be good.

when do you think his 1st NHL game will be? I'm gonna say the game vs the Sabres. that would be the perfect game to ease him to the NHL.

If they are smart, and thus far they have not shown to be, they would have the following:

Panarin Mika Kravtsov
Kreider Strome Buchnevich
Lafreniere Chytil Kakko

Give that 4th line 5-7 minutes a night
Looks good. Let's that young 3rd line feast on the bottom pairings and tear 'em up!

I don’t understand the f***ing sarcasm, Steven, where it’s coming from? It’s pretty much a daily thing now. This or Quinn’s “unimaginative” hockey.

Did Kakko spend extensive time on the 4th line? Did Lafreniere? Buch did spend time there a bit to get his head straight and it looks like it worked wonders. Chytil has always been in top-9 and again he’s showing a perfect good progression while still very young.

Are you still bitching about that loser Andersson?

There’s a difference between on the 4th and being benched and playing 7 minutes a night for stupid f***ing reasons

The only one who fits this statement is Kakko last year. How about realizing that Kakko wasn’t ready then and was struggling mightily? I could understand an argument that he would have been better off in Hartford but not this.

P.S. Lafreniere season is going much better than Kakko’s last even though he’s stretched in a first line role. Why his benching is not as frequent? Maybe Quinn hates Finns or some other stupid argument?

Seriously. The coach is flawed and Kakko and Laf aren’t where we thought they’d be. But they’ve had top 6 time, quite a lot of it, and they’ve never been relegated to the fourth line for any real period. Imo people don’t like the coach, understandably to a degree, and don’t want to accept that these kids are needing a little more time to be what we thought they would.

There has been a bad trend with our young top picks, and anyone not coming the NCAA route. When Kravtsov was here he didn't look like a different player, but our #2 and #1 look different than the guys we drafted. Whether it's the coach or not something is going on.

They’re having trouble elevating their game to match NHL speed, intensity, and attention to defense. Every guy in the NHL was a star in their former leagues. Top guys usually play for worse teams where mistakes might be more tolerated and points are therefore easier to come by.

And we don’t only dump and chase but do what the play and opposition allows for. It’s what every team tries to do abs we’re not different. We have to work on puck retrieval’s and putting in spots where we have guys coming in. We’ve limited our turnovers which means we sometimes have to dump and chase more often than we like.

So which of Kreider, Buchevich, Panarin, Lafreniere, or Kakko do you want to play him over? 5 of their spots in the top 9 forwards are locked in. The other has been Colin Blackwell who has been quite good. So unless we're demoting Blackwell to L4 - which is not warranted based on his play - there is absolutely no spot available other than on L4 without demoting one of the other young players.

Why does demoting Blackwell have to be warranted based on his play? He's still ideally a good 4th liner if we can upgrade (potentially) then why not?

It doesn't f***ing matter, you demote him to the 4th which is where he belongs. You don't sacrifice playing time to young developing players in a rebuild year. It's f***ing stupid.
