Another really cool thing about Shamrock's is they'll shuttle you to the game for free...AND you can bring your beer that you haven't quite finished along with you in a plastic cup :)

Not positive but I'm pretty sure they'd be doing that for the early start on Saturday as well.

How far from Target Center to Xcel ?

Thanks, I'm heading up for NCHC finals and staying at Marriot.

Any places close that anyone suggests

Kind of an open ended question, but here goes.......

Breakfast I would suggest Keys at the Foshay
To gorge yourself on a multitude of meat products, I would suggest Fogo de Chao
For steaks alone, I would suggest any of the following three, Mannys, Murrays or Ruth's Chris

Assuming you will be driving over to St Paul for the games, you could stop for burgers at the Nook (or at Shamrocks "the Irish Nook" just down from the X), the Blue Door Pub or the 5-8.

Lots of other places between Mpls and St. Paul, if you have a particular like, ask away, you will get lots of suggestions.
Thanks. The Nook serve Jucy Lucys?

They do, but I would go to Shamrocks over The Nook, just because its bigger and closer to the X. Same owners, same burgers and fries (honestly their fries are amazing). And I pass on the Lucy and go for the Nookie Supreme, so so much better IMO.

I would go to Blue Door last if you are doing the Lucy run down.

In my order of faves

Matts
Nook/Shamrock
5-8
Blue Door (although, the seasoned tots are amazing)

Hi all! Very good chance I might be attending the U next year. I'll be in town on April 9th for a day. Where should I go for lunch?

Oooh man, so many good places.

Mesa Pizza is a Dinkytown institution. Pizza by the slice, any flavor you could think of (Buffalo Chicken, Gyro, and Tortellini are my favorites). If you're looking for more of a sit down place, Stub and Herb's is a pretty standard burger joint. Pretty much right in the middle of campus, been there for a hundred years. Campus Pizza is another good pizza joint.

Ski-U-Mah :)

as mentioned, Campus Pizza and Stub and Herb's are the must for the Washington Ave part of campus.

In Dinkytown, you can't go wrong with Annie's for a burger and shake, Mesa is solid, or if you like Chipotle style burritos, go to Burrito Loco.

Hope you attend the U! I had a blast

Yep, Annie's is another good one. If you go there, get a malt!!

And, oh man, Burrito Loco brings back memories. 39 cent wings + BOGO pints. Not a better deal on campus!

I miss burrito Loco crazy food specials. Buy a mug of beer, get a grilled cheese sammich and cup of chili. Buy a pitcher of beer, get a pitcher of wings.

The good ol days

Only concern if I go there is possible debt....

It's a fantastic university. Absolutely loved my time there. There are going to be cheaper options out there, but it's definitely an experience.

If you're into the urban vibe, which I love, I think you'd enjoy it.

Is this going to be your first visit to campus?

Yes.

I'll hit up Dinkytown before I leave.

Edit: I have no clue how a guy(me) is picking between UMN and Kentucky right now with no family connections to either haha.
