Yes, and I'd like to point out that I appreciate you providing the link along with this comment so I don't have to track it down. :)

Sorry - my bad! Didn't see the thread, and I'm not visiting Calgary - I live here now! :)

True, but it's still applicable because this sort of thing can help anyone looking for info as a visitor. Also, you can file this under "General City Discussion."

Just wanted to say thanks to the classy Calgary fans for being nice to us last night.. ok, maybe too nice. We didn't get razzed even once at the game, unless you consider the 70 yr parking attendant asking us if we got lost. ha! My only complaint was the beer choices on tap were very limited, but I did enjoy a few shots of rye and popcorn.

I've been to Calgary before, but didn't get to spend much time around town. We had a good time walking all over and everyone we met were friendly.

p.s. Sorry for Kesler's behavior at the end of the game last night.

cya next time,

Ducks fan and his wife.

On behalf of all Canadians, I would like to say... "Sorry".

Hey guys, slightly off topic but wasn't sure where else to post this. I'm visiting Calgary for the Lightning game, anyway I need to buy a new Lightning jersey. Where is the best place to find one in downtown Calgary. I'm staying very close to the saddledome if that helps give you a better idea of where I'll be.

Thanks guys

I can't think of anywhere downtown that might have one. You'd have better luck at the hockey stores in Deerfoot Mall or Crossiron Mills.

From the dome, just jump on a South bound train to Chinook. It's literally only 2 or 3 stops depending on if you got on at Erlton or Vic Park respectively. There's a Jersey store in there. I'm sure they'll have Lightning stuff. You'll have to walk a block from the train to the mall; but it's fairly close and the weather's been holding up.

Downtown Calgary is really bad in regards to shopping. There's a mall there, it looks nice, but it's pretty 'meh' for what they have.

Thanks for all of the replies team.

I'm unable to contact the Chinook Mall jersey city as my phone will only allow me to call NZ & USA numbers. Would someone be able to do me a massive favor and see if they have mens Lightning jerseys in stock?
Cheers

Hey man, I just gave them a quick call.

The first guy Brayden or something was kind of dopey, put me on hold then hung up the phone  spoke to a guy named Travis, he says they have a few:

They have both the blue and the black jerseys, ranging from M to XL. Good luck out there!

Absolute legend. I owe you a beer for sure.

Thanks everyone, can't wait to see my two favourite teams go at it!

Theres a bus that is usually waiting right out front the chinook station that shuttles between the mall and the station.

Coming to Canada (Vancouver) for a few weeks. Which phone company can you guys recommend for internet and stuff (prepaid or pay as you go)? Other useful insights about Canadian life?;)

I still hope i can get tickets to the flames-canucks game at Rogers on the 6th of february. Someone elso going?

Get ready for a shock of a lifetime with Canadian cellphone/internet services

Our telecom companies are all very much the same and will be very similar in charges. The major ones are Bell, Telus, and Rogers. Not sure which is better for coverage in Vancouver but my own personal preference is Telus (for Alberta) here's their pre-paid plan info:

http://www.telus.com/en/ab/mobility/prepaid/plans/?INTCMP=Beta_PlansCatalog_CardCTAPrepaidPlans

I like Bell, but be ready to pay out the you know where.

I think I pay something like 100 a month, but I was stupid and got the phone protection plan and not apple care. Unlimited nationwide calling is a big plus though. The Data is where they screw you.

Oh yeah, and my girlfriend is on Telus, and she loves it. You really can't go wrong, but you also can't avoid opening your wallet. Like, all the way open.

We are getting really OTOT here, but I am with Wind because I am cheap . They were bought by Shaw a couple weeks back, should be interesting to see what happens with them going forward.

You guys all need to beat the system like I did. Company phone that my employer pays for  used for personal use; always have updated models, it's the winning combo :)
